Fantastic teacher not only for guitar but also generally for music theory, performing, producing, writing etc. Jase was by far the best guitar teacher I've had and had a really thorough and detailed program to understand all aspects of playing guitar.

Jason is a highly professional, organised and inspirational guitar tutor who has taught my son from beginner level up to grade 3 so far. He is incredibly thorough and places important emphasis on theory and developing technique as well as also spending time to chat, make jokes and develop a love of playing. Most importantly, my son really enjoys the lessons.

Jason is an excellent tutor and over the last 2 years has taken my near 30 years of admittedly pretty rubbish playing to now actually being able to play actual tunes from sheet music. His thorough teaching method really means you learn all the necessary skills to open up a whole new world of being able to play. Also he's a really nice guy and makes it fun learning with him and his other knowledge of relaxation techniques can really help you mentally keep you in the right place for learning. Absolutely recommend him.

I’m really delighted to write a review for Jason who has been teaching my two boys (aged 10 and 14) guitar for a few months now. I cannot praise Jason highly enough.Initially, the ten year old began lessons and after sitting in on those lessons for a while I decided (as a self-confessed pushy mum!) that it was time to give my 14 year old the chance to learn with Jason. I have to say that the results have been literally phenomenal for both my boys. With the ten year old I have had the privilege to witness an extremely skilled teacher doing what he does best and I have visibly seen my son progressing and learning every week. He has moved out of mundane school guitar lessons (playing “London’s burning” for example) through to having a collection of well-known songs that he can play well thanks to Jason’s tuition and support. Not only that, he is developing skills of reading standard notation and the confidence to work out other songs that he now wants to play. A few days ago he tackled a brand new song (Seven Nation Army) totally independently; reading sheet music and working out the rhythm. This is something he never would have been able to do without Jason. It was evidence to me that “learning has taken place” which happens to be one of Jason’s phrases!Jason is clear, engaging and makes every lesson fun which I massively appreciate as it helps keep my children motivated: no more battles about practice. He's got brilliant techniques for helping learners remember things and endless patience. As for my 14 year old, Jason is currently setting the pace with him around music theory and we are beginning to really reap the rewards. He simply describes Jason as “a legend” and I feel inclined to agree with this! I would not hesitate to recommend Jason and cannot think of any learner who would not benefit from his expertise and approach.

Jason Brown is a fabulous guitar teacher. I have been a student of his for over 10 years and my playing has improved exponentially over this time. Jason tailors his lessons for musicians of all skill levels - from beginners to advanced. The main difference between Jason and the vast majority of other guitar teachers is that Jason will not just teach students to 'learn to play a song', but he provides the tools to allow his students be able to ultimately play any song by developing an understanding and ownership of the technical and theoretical components of guitar playing. Can highly recommend.

I started lessons with Jason 9 months ago now.I'd played on and off for a few years just teaching myself from YouTube videos but never made much progress.Jason lessons are really engaging and structured and my playing has really come on great since I starting with him.He breaks down all aspects of playing so that you can work on and improve all the different techniques.Jason keeps the lessons really fun and interesting, and motivates you to keep getting better.And to top it off he's a great guy.Couldn't recommend him enough.

With a minimal background of strumming 1/2doz chords but no grounding in music theory whatsoever, I embarked on guitar lessons via Zoom during the height of the pandemic.Initial quite sceptical how that could work, modern technology with a laptop camera on the body of my guitar and the phone camera on the neck, has made it remarkably successful.Jason has taken me on a structured journey to Grade 3 in 18months. Speed of progress was determined by me (not) finding the time to practice.The lessons have been really good fun, even when I came up like a school boy feeling bad, because I had not done my homework.It has been fascinating to explore the curious logic of music, scales and keys, which to me were just a large riddle.Jason is an incredibly enthusiastic and remarkably patient and forgiving teacher.He has a special interest in the neurophysiology of learning and remembering, which shows in his teaching skills.Very highly recommended!

Jason is a fantastic teacher. He is organised, patient, dedicated and places particular emphasis on theory and focused practice. Not only is he a great player himself, he also has a natural ability to breakdown the elements of playing, including (sometimes) complicated theory, so that it is practical and applicable. His teaching has improved my playing and understanding of the theory of music immeasurably. If it weren't for him I would still be stuck at the same level, bumbling around the guitar having no idea what I was playing. Jason is also a really great guy, with a brilliant sense of humour and his lessons are always a highlight of my week.
