Neat place with great history. Consistently some of the worst service I’ve ever experienced. Truly unfortunate considering the potential of the location. I had an entire team of people there visiting from all over the world and the Waiters and bar staff specifically went out of their way to be rude and make it a very difficult experience. Won’t be back.

We were in room 3203. Lovely old building, stunning location. The brasserie doesn't really fit with the main building. Lovely open fires. The photos speak for themselves. Bed was comfy, bathroom very clean. Hairdryer, iron, ironing board, trouser press, safe, bath robes, shower gel, shower cap, shampoo and conditioner provided. Coffee machine and tea making facilities in room( also more asking one of the corridors). Towels provided.

Lovely spa day! The best treatments I've had in a spa! The staff were lovely and so helpful! And the good was amazing too. The drinks are so expensive though! Ridiculous prices for drinks, apart from that it was a great day.

Excellent service - all the staff were friendly and accommodating. In particular Emma at reception and Colin the concierge were warm, welcoming and very helpful. The Pool and Spa were lovely and lots of fun. Pet friends, and suited the needs of our kids very well, and conjoined rooms were great for our family stay. Our evening meal was delicious - well above expectation. Thank you!

We decided to stay here last minute for mine and my boyfriends four year anniversary and it turned out to be one of the best stays we’ve ever had. Spoke to a really kind lady on the phone asking her to write happy anniversary in a card in the room and she went over & beyond. The room and facilities were both lovely too. Will definitely be returning.

We stayed here for one night on 10 December. We'd been here a couple of years ago and wanted to come back to see the Hall decorated for Christmas. We weren't disappointed, it's a stunning building and looked amazing. We've stayed in a feature room in the Old Hall both times and both rooms were really spacious, we loved the period features. My husband is particularly interested in the room at the top of the spiral staircase, we might try and book this one next time! We visited the spa and used the pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi, all really good with lovely helpful staff. Dinner in the brasserie was excellent, we enjoyed all 3 courses, the same for breakfast. Finally, a big thank you to Dawn for giving us such a lovely room (3201), we really enjoyed our pre-Christmas break and will definitely be back.

We booked a 2 night spa/dinner/afternoon tea deal and had the most faultless stay.Great checking in experience with Dawn on reception, our deluxe king room was spacious, spotlessly clean and with an awesome shower. I'd asked for a quiet room and it was perfectly that.Dinner on the first night was excellent. Lovely food, well presented with attentive staff.Self service Breakfast was of great quality and choice. Special mention for Roland, who's work ethic was simply stunning. He can certainly teach most young uns a thing or two.The spa facilities are excellent; again well maintained and spotlessly clean. Beth and Tina who did our spa treatments were excellent and lovely with it.Afternoon tea with Sue was superb. If I was being really picky, I'd question why there were three finger sandwiches of each variety to share between 2 people and yet even numbers of scones and pastries. The old part of the Grade 1 listed hotel is simply stunning. People pay National Trust good money to visit lesser places. There's so many places to see that we rarely go to somewhere twice, but we're going to make this an annual treat. Wonderful stuff.

Really lovely location that was easily accessible. Rooms were lovely and comfy. Food was nice, however a little expensive for what it was. Really helpful and attentive staff. Wonderful house and setting. Swimming pool/ steam etc lovely, super clean and helpful staff. Couldn't fault the stay with the exception that my partner and I had a couples massage. My 50 minute treatment was only 40 minutes of which it wasn't that great and felt extremely rushed/ inconvenient to the lady, especially when its nearly £90 each.Overall experience good, would certainly recommend (other than the spa) and also return.

Lovely old hall but we were in the newer part which was fine.Swimming pool rather packed and jacuzzi not very clean. The decor and Christmas decorations in the old hall were fabulous well worth seeing.

It's obviously a stunning venue, and we only went for coffees so this review isn't based on the rooms etc or overall stay. I took my dad for a birthday treat thinking we could just get a cup of tea/coffee and a slice of cake but they wouldn't sell us cake in slices, you had to book the whole afternoon tea. We were a bit disappointed but I do understand it's not a cafe. Hence why I've still given 4 stars. We were pleasantly surprised by the price when the bill came. We had a tea and a coffee and it came to little over £6 which given the beautiful setting and grandeur, we thought was very good as opposed to the £10 you can easily spend on 2 drinks at a high street chain.
