I wish I could rate this place more than 5 stars. After having a wonder of the town we found this pub to have some late lunch not realising they all shut there kitchens around 3, we went to leave after finding this out but the staff went above and beyond to cook us some lunch. I had the Mac and Cheese which was the best thing I have ever eaten and my partner had the ham egg and chips which he said was really good too. They had a good offer on that with a ice cream to follow which again was so refreshing and yummy. I wish we lived closer to be able to return as we loved it there, again thank you so much for feeding us we are beyond grateful!

Great old pub / restaurant. Love the cosiness of the low ceilings and exposed beams. Really good value food. Great service from really good waiting staff.

So at last Smugglers reopens as a restaurant and we decided to try it out on a late March evening. To be honest I was disappointed that we have lost a local pub but glad that it was open at all. Booked on line, booking confirmed within 12 hours. Restaurant was busy at 7:30. Most tables full. Good to see. Service was efficient and very friendly. Menu has been targeted for mass appeal and priced accordingly. Mains are good value - starters and deserts are half price at the moment. Food was excellent. Well cooked and good portions. As we only live 50M away I think we will be back.

The restaurant has a nice old interior that is well kept and the staff are nice and friendly. The food is selection is OK. However it was clear from our last visit that when you buy one of their 3 course meal deals the resulting food portions are noticeably smaller than when you buy the items separately. I found this quite an underhand trick which resulted in me remaining hungry due to the smaller portions I received.Attended another meal at xmas, this time we felt crammed into a space not big enough for the group. I was again disappointed by the size of the meal, where a steak" was about the size of a small burger.I like the restaurant itself but the small meals and cooped up space ruin it."

What a hidden gem. Great value 3 course meal for £10! Choice of starters and desserts plus fish or steak mains. Food served quickly and freshly cooked, although it was busy with at least 50 diners. very tasty. Restaurant nicely decorated too.

First visit to the new restaurant was very pleasant with sympathetic decor, friendly and efficient service and an extensive and well priced menu. Good parking too. Only slight downside is that it was a bit noisy when full due to the low ceilings but we will certainly return. Excellent value for money.

I used to drink here every week with a friend but when it shut as a pub and turned into a restaurant only, of course, we stopped goingHowever, this evening we decided we would give it a try and we had three courses for £10 which was more than I could eat but was nice plain simple food served very quickly by charming waitressesThe place was packedThe only downside for me was that the only draft beer they sell was Spitfire, which is not my favourite beerIt is a shame that the Brewery will not let them have a guest Beer such as Harvey’s best, which is wonderfulWe will certainly return at sometime in the future, and this evening. It was a good job that we booked.

Fantastic place to eat. Staff brilliant. Order taken and had our meals within minutes drinks etc. The roast lamb was the best tasting piece of lamb I can remember eating same goes for the other 12 family members with me. Already booked to go back for the Christmas menu. Prices are also very very good. Cannot thank the smugglers enough.Go and see for yourself
