Great garage very reliable and reasonable service

done the job of changing two brake pipe and inner cover boot and exhaust only rear part of a very cheap car. Peugeot 107. all parts on the internet in euro car parts for a total of £160/£170 and I was charged 5 hours for small jobs! in total £559.00? with test Mot.

Oh honestly stay away from here!! Paul is going to run Davies garage to the ground!!! Unbelievable. I needed a selector cable for my Punto… I gets a quote of 509 pounds!!!!! WTH!! It was left in Main Street for 2 days and didn’t contact me. Also left all my panel etc for gears thrown on floor and left it in 1st gear!!! So when I had it towed I had to sit in the car with foot on the clutch to get it on. …I know a bit about cars and can pick a cable up for 20 quid! Obviously thinking I’m a daft woman Paul? Wouldn’t come to the phone when I phoned either! I feel so bad for peopletaking their cars/ vans here like single parents like myself or elderly people who they are ripping off! I’m actually making a complaint now to trading standards as this is unbelievably shocking! Total robbery.

I recently had a wonderful experience with Thompson's Motors and would highly recommend their services to anyone in Edinburgh in need of car maintenance. After taking my car to another garage for its MOT and being informed that it had failed due to 19 defects, I brought it to Thompson's and was pleasantly surprised to find that they were able to pass it with only 2 advisories.Paul, the mechanic who assisted me, took the time to show me my car and explain each issue that had been previously identified by the other garage, but which he believed did not require any corrective action for the MOT. He even fixed a dangerous defect for me at no additional cost, which the other garage had tried to charge me £37 for, as he deemed it to be a minor issue.Overall, the service was quick, efficient, and completely honest. I am thrilled to have found a reliable and trustworthy garage like Thompson's and will be sure to use them for all my future car maintenance needs. If you want peace of mind and a job well done, don't hesitate to bring your car to Thompson's Motors.

Collected my car after its repair on 5th Sept 2022. It broke down again within days with the same symptoms. The garage's response was to tell me that I'd instructed the wrong repair! Since I'm incapable of instructing any garage about anything to do with cars I have to dispute that. I'd described the symptoms - loss of power steering - alert warning light. I'm surprised that Thompsons took no responsibility for the £374 repair. Another garage has found the problem and fixed it. The car is running fine.

We recently moved house but still come here for our services and other issues as they are always fairly priced, helpful and never talk down to you.I have had a few issues such as a dead battery where they have helped but refused any payment. Truly a good team!
