Nice cafe in terms of staff but food just average. Can’t recommend the gluten free as the toastie purchased was soggy and lacked flavour. Sorry but true. Not sure how made but maybe something to consider. The sausage & bacon bap was Ok nothing special. Coffees purchased watery tasting. Small cafe and was very busy so maybe food was rushed? Can recommend if you want average food with basic/average flavours but not if you want something a bit special, more tasty or special dietary requirements eg. vegan/ gluten free. Very nice staff though.

We were in Carnforth and needed lunch on a wet and windy Thursday afternoon. A high Google review score brought us to Cafe Edelweiss and it did not disappoint.We received a friendly and brisk welcome and sat down by the window. We were given menus and advised of the specials. We shared a big pot of tea and both had the excellent cheese and onion quiche from the specials. It was served with delicious coleslaw and fried potato slices. The quiche was among the best quiches I’ve ever eaten and the coleslaw had plenty of mayo which is often lacking, but certainly not here.There was a great range of desserts, cakes and tray bakes to choose from. We opted for fruit crumble and apple strudel. We were given a massive jug of custard to share. Both were excellent.Everything was really well priced. If we were to find ourselves in Carnforth again I would return here without question. Five stars. No notes. Just excellent from start to finish.

Went to a cafe hoping for a meal. Found nibbles and cake were really only on offer. Not impressed with either price or offerings. Obviously most reviewers think otherwise so maybe its just me!

Very popular with local regulars. Small but some more seating outside. Typical Cafe menu with some Austrian additions. Goulash was good. Homemade cakes too. Good value. Cash only. Listen for cuckoo clocks on the wall!

Delightful dining! We went three times in our week visit and enjoyed each visit. Fast, friendly service. Scone with cream and jam is a must!

Unfortunately having to leave a disappointing review after visiting several times with my nana. Previously the service and food has been amazing and couldn't fault it. Haven't visited in over a year and today our visit wasn't one to recommend or go back for. We both had breakfasts, one small one normal, the whole breakfast was very greasy and the bacon wasn't cooked great on mine, sausages were served sliced open not sure where the contents of the meat was. Service was good by some but one particular waitress just dumped our toast Infront of our faces and same for the cutlery. Sadly I think the food was bad before it was cooked.

A lovely cafe to visit, always welcoming and speedy service. The food is very well priced as the portion sizes are very generous. I would highly recommend trying the cheesecake. The service is excellent as the staff are always friendly and very good at providing information to do with the menu. A lot of happy faces from other customers is always a good sign that a cafe is doing well with a lot of competition in the local area. Will be visiting again for sure. Would highly recommend.

Friday 18th August 2023This cafe was visitedA pleasent cafe with well looked after inside and outside eating areas the staff were very polite and good at what they didThe food was well cooked, and for £8.40 as picture shows l posted on cafes photo page" there were ample grub served, the large coffee was extra, so for 11 quid, it was well worth it.I would use this grand eatery again when in Carnforth
