The Pot Still
The best pub in Glasgow. Service is nice and they don't mind to help and adapt to your drinking preferences. The atmosphere is cheerful and the pies are great too.I lost my wallet, phoned back and they handed it over to me. Very nice people, very nice pub. They serve excellent whisky and they treat customers excellently.

A wonderful place to go. The food was good, the beer and whiskies excellent and the service was amazing. Though busy, the staff will spend time to advise on the magnificent selection of whisky they have, matching your preference and budget to what they have. For those who want to taste a selection, they can make up a tasting tray, with detailed information on each. The atmosphere here was great, with tourists and locals.

I went because a friend of mine told me about it.The place has an old beauty to that. It's really full of whisky and pies.Nice beers as well. The employees were friendly and attentive, and they knew a lot about each individual bottle. It blows my mind that they have this rich knowledge about some many whisky.

I went just for the whiskey tasting. I didn't eat so I couldn't rate the food, but the menu looked pretty good. However, the pub is very low-key and very local. No drunks or bams.Straight away, I admitted to my guide, Chris, that I am a complete novice to the world of whiskey - even to the point that I don't even know if I like it. He took a second and then tailored his presentation (nearly 2 hours!) to my considerable ignorance. It was a presentation like few I've seen.Chris gave me a virtual tour through six different distilleries from throughout Scotland, and through that covered an incredible range of subjects. From chemistry to history to changing tastes and whiskey snobbery and beyond. He began his story by saying that there are no stupid questions. At that point I peppered him with a dozen stupid questions, and he answered them smoothly, taking his time to make sure I understood. With the first drink in the flight of six, he explained where the whiskeys are made, and the differences imbued by each location. He went into many of the details of making whiskey, and showed with each sample how differences in the process result in different tastes. He talked about little-known tweaks in distilling, aging, and bottling that occur with every bottle. It was fascinating! In fact, it was so interesting that a local gent in the next table admitted that he was listening to Chris instead of his wife because there were so many things he had never heard of!I can't say that I savored every drop of the sampling - let's face it, whiskey is an acquired taste. But I DID notice many of the differences he described. Now I'm equipped to try different brews and learn to appreciate the subtleties better over time.On the other hand, if you already enjoy whiskey, I'd bet you're going to like all the samples, and love at least one or two of them!Highly recommended, for one person or a dozen. £40 per person, and I guarantee you'll enjoy it.

I think this bar worth the visit if you’re staying in Glasgow even for a short period of time! They are offering signature Whiskies, very genuine Scottish ones! I’m happy that I’ve got the chance to try it tonight! The staff are very friendly and caring and the atmosphere is really nice!

People say that precious things come on small size and that is the case for the pot still. Ideal to hang out with friends and maybe discover your new favourite whisky. The place is an historic building very well preserved. Staff is very gentle and ready to help with your selection. It will be nice to have a menu with the Whisky list and prices but you have to rely on the bar tenders. Sometimes it can be very crowded so maybe not ideal in a hot summer.

The Pit Still is the best whiskey bar I have ever visited (I am a whiskey fan). Incredible selection on hundreds of unique whiskeys you won’t find anywhere else. Service is great and knowledge of the bar staff is incredible. There have some basic food which is nice but this is not why you come here. If you are a whiskey drinker this is a much visit.

Went in mid afternoon for a whisky flight. It was amazing, the flight was very well curated and the staff were very knowledgeable and happy to discuss each whisky. The atmosphere was great. Overall, I had a great time here.
