Liverpool Blood Donor Centre

First ever donations. Got told my veins were too flat" as I was too dehydrated. Fine no problem. But I didn't appreciate the judgey comments like "I'm surprised your able to stay awake" when refering to the amount of prescribed medications I take and then being interrogated about my medical condition which had no relevance to my blood donation. Was literally dismissed with no effort to get me another appointment in the future and no advice as to how long to wait and how to prepare better next time. I left in tears. Thankfully went to a pop up session elsewhere a few days later and they had no problems taking my donation and also made me feel valued."

As always, staff are excellent - friendly & efficient. They're now in better premises than before - very handy for Moorfields Station. (There are plenty of local venues used if people don't want to come into town.)

A very streamlined and easy process. I had my third donation yesterday, every time I've been in and out within an hour, but the process never cuts corners for the sake of rushing you.For my first time, everyone was very reassuring. Everyone I dealt with already knew it was my first donation before we spoke, and all took the extra time to make sure I was relaxed and informed of the process. They're very good at handling new donors, and for regulars the process is effortless.I can't recommend donating enough, and especially at this particular donor centre. I plan to donate here as often as I can, for as long as I can!

Absolutely a great experience. Staff were lovely and so kind! I really appreciate how much they cared about my wellbeing while donating. Checking on me quite often and making sure I was feeling okay. These deserve a nice 5 stars

Friendly and professional staff running this place, super attentive you really feel your in safe hands and the need for blood products is so essential, these guys are literally saving lives through there work!Thanks to all the staff.For directions I would say in a car, park in Capital NCP, its £9.95 though for up to 12 hours on a Saturday so quite pricey but its only a couple of minutes walk to the donation centre.

It was my first time in UK. Nice place and lovely people.Can't wait for next time.

It was my first time donating blood and the experience didn't go quite as planned.The donation centre is easy to find, but not exactly local to me. There are a couple of NCP car parks just around the corner, but beware, the one I parked in cost me over eight pounds for just over two hours.Initially I found the staff in the donation centre to be very professional and caring. However, there was a problem getting the blood out of me. My wife thinks that because I'm a Yorkshireman I'm just being tight . Anyway, one member of staff was asked to check the needle in my arm, but she misunderstood and disconnected me. This ended the donation too early, and I'd only donated roughly half of what I was supposed to. After that, I felt as though I was being rushed out of the chair. Once standing, I was actually pushed towards the seating area where you're meant to have a cup of tea, or whatever you fancy, but on that day the hot drink machine was broken. I yearned for a simple kettle to fix the problem, but instead I settled for an orange juice. The moment I tipped the last drop into my mouth I was thanked for my donation. I took this to mean I was free to go ( or not hang around) and so I left, feeling a little underwhelmed by the whole adventure.I've not been put off donating blood and have already set up my next appointment, at a different donation centre, closer to home.
