Dunedin Country House

Attended for a friend's wedding last week and couldn't have been more impressed! The venue was beautiful, the lodge we stayed on was absolutely stunning and the staff were brilliant, special shout out to Sam!

One night stay on a road trip, beautiful house with decor to match. We stayed in the silver room, which was fabulous, with views overlooking the gardens. The room was immaculate, the bed sumptuously comfortable. The staff, especially Beth, were very friendly and helpful. Great choice at breakfast, ample free parking, would definitely return.

I contacted this venue about hosting an afternoon tea for a baby shower and I was given the dates they had available. I chose November 4th, 2023 and I received an email confirming my booking and I paid my deposit. A few days later I received an email telling me that my chosen date had already been booked for a wedding that had been in the process of cancelling and was now reinstated so I could no longer have my baby shower as they had to honour the existing wedding contract ???!!!!What was the point in me paying a deposit to secure a date? Why did they not say the date was just tentative? Perhaps they were telling the truth or maybe a better offer just came along? So my warning is that as beautiful as the venue is, it is tarnished by the lack of trust and professionalism from the proprietors and the deposit is one sided!

First off I want to say that Verity and Beth absolutely made the experience of staying in this hotel during the wedding. What lovely professional women they are. The cleaning staff were also incredibly kind and friendly. Sadly upon arrival in my room there was a poo in my toilet still and the shower head was loose. As I was staying for a wedding I didn't want to cause any fuss so didn't mention this to staff. For breakfast we were given forms, as I didn't want breakfast the morning of the wedding I was told I could order for the following morning. I chose avacado and poached eggs. When I tell you I was looking forward to this breakfast so much only to be told by a very rude young staff member that they're not taking orders and it's a cooked breakfast for everyone or nothing. It sounds silly I know but I was so upset I went up with no breakfast and had a cry. The grounds are beautiful and the bed was so comfy but I didn't feel particularly cared for which is a real shame.

Amazing wedding breakfast as well as evening meal. Good time had by family and friends who stayed at venue, beautiful decor of bedrooms, immaculate manicured gardens .Highly recommended x

We had our wedding at Dunedin in march 2033. As soon as we visited I knew it was the place I wanted to get married, it’s stunning and extremely reasonably priced. Planning our wedding every step of the way the staff were so helpful. Everything ran so smoothly on the day and we were made to feel so special. The rooms are lovely as well as spotless. Wasn’t sure what to expect with the food as we weren’t able to make any of the taster days however we were blown away with it, everyone commented how gorgeous everything was. Thank you to all of the staff at Dunedin for making our wedding dreams come true!

This place is beautiful to the eye, very well presented inside and the service from Shelia is exceptional. She is a true asset to this business and really made the effort to accommodate us. Thank you Shelia!
