100% I would recommend this place. Situated on the beach and promenade it’s a great place to grab breakfast or brunch. The food was fantastic and the coffee was excellent.

Great spot to have a good breakfast at Edinburgh beach. Staff is very friendly and gave us a small chat. The view is great and the food was also very delicious. But even for the awesome see view the prices are a bit over the top or the portions are a bit too small.

This café is NOT dog-friendly. The outside area near the beach is, but that isn’t really the café, is it? Service was inattentive and slow. We did come at a busy time, but we still ended waiting too long, and so did many others in the queue. The cakes, on the other hand, made up for the service. I’d recommend the Pecan Blondie and the Lemon Drizzle. Would I come back? Maybe during the week…

This place is a real gem. You feel as if you're being looked after as soon as you put a foot in the door. Lot's of friendly, smiling staff. Food is lovely. If it's busy, you may have to wait a while for food but it's not a fast food café, it's a good food café so worth the wait. Anyway most tables have a view over the beach so it's easy to pass the time.

The Beach House Portobello is a great place for breakfast. They make great eggs benedict and pancakes and offer smoothies, breakfast rolls and some more unusual options, so something for everyone. They have indoor and outdoor seating available. They are kid friendly and every time we went it appears as mothers like to catch up at the beach house with each other and therefore it can get a bit noisy when you are indoors. Outdoors the seating is on the promenade which makes for great views but obviously people will walk past a lot. Sometimes, especially when it’s a sunny weekend, it gets really busy and we don’t think you can book tables ahead of time so maybe have alternative options planned. We tried some of the bakery options as part of a “Too Good To Go bag” and they were all quite dry but in store they might be a lot better. The service is nice but can be on the slower side. Overall a decent place to visit.

Cafe in lovely location by the sea. Plenty of tables and lots of sumptuous cakes. Great view but I tend to find it can get very busy and noisy and the tables are a bit close together so you are sharing your conversation with your neighbours. Nice in the good weather when you can sit outside by the beach.

Everything we tried to ordered wasn't available, its sold out. Panini sold out, quiche sold out.Expected it to be expensive here, just because of location but on top of the prices, the portions were very small for the price. Its extortionate. The price for the Mexican smash was £12.5 (pic)The waiter was really nice, everything was sold out and she was apologetic. The food was alright but everything was just a mess. The main food arrived before our drinks. The cakes never arrived until we asked again. We didn't get any water after asking, couple of times.

Bright and cheery cafe overlooking the seaside. We were seated right away. Cafe is busy as to be expected with the seaside location. The have an attentive wait staff, but not hovering. When you're ready to order dessert, just go to the glass case to order what you like and they will bring to the table. It is a slower paced vibe. I wasn't surprised by the prices since it is a seaside location. The mocha and dark hot chocolate were delicious and piping hot! Only downside is the water glasses are on the super small side. They do bring you a large glass bottle to keep at the table to refill the water glasses from. The food presentation was carefully done and artistically so. Everything was so yummy!

A very pleasant place to have a drink, or some breakfast - (or lunch, or just cakes - the cakes looked very good!) It's right on the Portobello promenade, and you can eat outside - at several tables for 4 - or inside. I only stopped for a mug of tea (and had it outside) as it was early morning, but the customers at nearby tables were tucking into some nice-looking breakfasts. I think the pancakes with bacon and maple syrup were £10, but they did look appealing. My mug of tea cost £3.50 so it's not the cheapest place for a cuppa, but you're paying a bit more for a lovely view of Portobello beach and the Firth of Forth. They do takeaways.I'd happily go back. Service was friendly and efficient.
