County Aparthotel

What a fantastic apartment! It is a 3 minute walk to the train station, huge clean and modern rooms. Parking for £10 for 24 hours if there are spaces available (entrance for parking is about 10-15m to the left of the main entrance in a hole in the wall). The appartment is completely fitted out with all modern appliances that a family would need for a short stay.

Serious cleanliness and health concerns!!The worst part about my stay was the management customer service after!We had got apartment 201 which is a lovely and great sized apartment. We had moved the sofa to suit our needs and found a used sex toy and mask! Paul the manager took 3 hours to come to the room to remove this. And when I spoke to David the manager on the phone after our stay he was very rude, I was shaking and in tears when I came off the phone. David called me a liar and was trying to say I had planted these in this apartment.Also one of our friends rooms had a leak in it therefore couldn't stay in the room( which I totally understand weather is outwith the hotels control) they kindly moved them to a different room, on checkout they charged my card another room rate - and said I had to pay for the room that was faulty and the room they were moved too. After numerous emails explaining the situation. David the manager called me greedy for asking for a refund of the overpayment they took from my card without my consent- luckily with hesitation they compensated the cost.The whole stay was dampened by lack of communication . Health and cleanliness standards lacking and management not caring for their occupants!The only good thing I can say about this hotel is that it is very centrally located.

Nice and spacious apartment and they were very flexible with late checkout and they even reserved a parking spot for us at the hotel (even though they said they couldn't).The room itself was very warm and without any air-conditioning. Beds were very springy.Lots of noise from the cafes underneath because we had to keep the windows open.

On welcome, we was welcomed by a very polite man named Paul, in the car park. We received such a warm welcome. The receptionists have been fantastic. The apartment has been very clean and the housekeeping staff have been amazing. The rooms are very very nice too. The staff are very kind and so helpful

2 bedroom apartment (TV in both bedrooms!) was modern, spacious and clean. 2 bathrooms and a separate kitchen/living area with dishwasher with coffee machine. It's a serviced apartment so cleaned daily/toiletries and coffees etc refreshed and can access the concierge for the aparthotel and main hotel if necessary. Reception at both the hotel and aparthotel were wonderful. The location is perfect - if you have children it's a very short walk to the life science centre. My kids are 5 and 1 so this accommodation was AMAZING for us (to not all stay in the same hotel room) but it's been so good I would also return here to stay without kids or to stay with friends. Excellent value too!! If there are spaces (first come first served) you can also park in the county hotel car park which is great value and location too. 5* from me

Lovely spacious apartment in a great location. Would definitely visit again. One small bit of feedback - a small dining table and chairs in 2 bed apartment would be really useful, plus some extra utensils in the kitchen. These are small points for an otherwise luxury apartment.

At first it looks things look great and reception staff seem very friendly but there's lots of disappointing details:1. The bathroom in smaller bedroom smells of sewage2. The fan in the bathroom of the smaller bedroom has a broken fan3. The air-conditioning filters are dirty and should be replaced - the thermostat displays the notification4. The beds are very small, they hardly take 2 adults5. The mattresses are extremely uncomfortable, we all woke up with back pain6. The pillows are extremely hard, it felt like sleeping on a rock7. The light in the wardrobes doesn't go off which makes in difficult to sleep8. The water pressure is very low, it's very hard to rinse the hair especially without a hand held shower on top of the low pressure9. Some dishes were not clean, we found lipstick on wine glasses.10. Lack of practical items like kitchen towel or washing up liquid which makes it very difficult to eat in with only a single cutlery set per person11. No hand wash, only a small soap in a block but without any holder for which makes it difficult to pick it up and wash one's hands properlyI would certainly expect significantly higher standards from a 4 star hotel. Originally wanted to give 3 stars but after trying to communicate with the hotel manager about compensation for all the shortcomings I got even more frustrated and came to the conclusion that 2 stars would be more accurate. I sadly do not recommend

'County Aparthotel' is a convenient, spacious, luxury apartment / hotel in the centre of Newcastle, within the same block as the hotel of the company ('County Hotel' - situated directly opposite the train station). More space (office type working desk, lounge area with sofa and TV {digital channels but not smart IE no iPlayer or screencast or Netflix etc}, fully equipped kitchen with fridge, freezer, microwave, oven, hob, dishwasher) and more discrete than the main hotel, but no parking (patrons can park at the main hotel - 3 mins walk away - £10/ 24hrs - secure / locked at night - but accessible should you need your car). Marked down as there was no hot water one night due to a leak somewhere in the hotel, and the phone to the front desk wasn't working, but the manager did fix it and came to let us know. Friendly 24hr concierge. Loading area outside to unload. Amazing Korean restaurant 5mins walk away. 18mins walk to hospital.
