Make It Sew

If you ever need alterations, I would 100% recommend Abi at make it sew in Henley.After 3 years of having the dress (Covid cancellation) it was too small for me and Abi altered it perfectly. Not only that, there were a few things I wasn’t happy with regarding the previous seamstress: dodgy sleeves and lace around the waist and with Abi’s expertise, she fixed the sleeves and the lace on the bodice to make my dress the dress I always wanted it to be. She saved my dress and my wedding and I’ll be forever grateful to her.Not only is she brilliant at her job, but she is also so friendly and kind - she puts you at ease and is so reassuring. She also helped me put the dress in the car and hugged me too! She really does do service with care and she really does care.I wouldn’t have wanted anyone else to have altered my dress and I’m so glad I found Abi.Thank you Abi. X

Abi altered my wedding dress in early November 2021 and it is rare that I have experienced such friendly, efficient, talented and professional service. Not only was she able to use her experience to suggest alterations that would make my entire day more comfortable, but she also worked around my restricted schedule to complete all the required alterations over a one day period! I never once felt rushed and the finished product was flawless - everyone commented that it absolutely 'fit me like a glove'. In fact, Abi went above and beyond my expectations, teaching me how to walk, sit, kneel and go up stairs in my dress to ensure I was as confident as i could be on the day itself.Thank you, Abi, you really helped to make me feel like a true princess, and listening to your voice in my head as i walked down the aisle and kneeled during the service really helped me keep calm and composed (on the outside at least!)I have already had more items altered by Abi and cant wait to wear them with confidence and flare.

Abi is a fantastic seamstress and a true magician with a needle and thread! She worked wonders on a dress that was both too big and too long, and consisted of about 30,000 layers! All of my fittings with her were a joy, and she helped with with so much. From wedding day advice to how to use a the loo ina giant poofy wedding dress, she did it all and with humour and kindness.She made the whole experience an absolute dream, and I can't recommend her enough!

All lovely girls and always get the job done. They go the extra mile to complete jobs quickly if required.

Abi made the most perfect & seamless alterations to my lace wedding dress and altered 6 bridesmaid dresses for me too. All spot on! I love how seamlessly she works with bridal shops to co-ordinate alteration sessions, she is extremely friendly, helpful and flexible. Abi is AMAZING! She is an incredibly talented woman, and made the alteration process of my wedding dress so so enjoyable. My dress fitted perfectly, and she was so thorough and took the time to make sure that I was happy with every element of my dress. I will be back to bring my regular dresses in for alteration. Abi was just fantastic! Not only did she do the alterations on my wedding dress she also did my second outfit (the wedding was split over two days) and squeezed my bridesmaid dress into her very busy schedule after covid postponements!Abi was so friendly and super quick at responding to messages. She really got to know me and listened to the changes i wanted to make. She made all the outfits fit perfectly. I had so many comments about how well both outfits fitted my shape.Abi was brilliant at giving tips for on the day and showed my Mum how to get me into my dress. She helped with underwear ideas so they didn't show as well as how to walk and kneel (for prayer) in my dress.If you are looking for alternations, you really must go to Abi! I could not recommend Abi highly enough. She was amazing in the lead up to our wedding, communicating with me about the plan for my dress fittings and giving me all the information I needed for them. She even organised an extra fitting ahead of the usual timing to make sure I felt comfortable – she made me feel so much more confident and was just incredible, so warm and kind and clearly an absolute expert in her field!
