This is the worst employer I have ever worked for. They make money from teachers by employing low level clerical staff who can't spell or write properly and have little comprehension of the UK qualifications framework. Quite complex subjects, such as engineering, are classified as 'basic skills' to drive down wages. My salary after tax worked out at around £15 per hour. This is with an MA and DELTA (not that they knew what that was). Breaks are not paid and if you find yourself working split shifts, your whole day could be gone for around £30. On top of this, administration was so lacking that they forgot to pay my salary in December. I will never forgive them for that. I wonder how they would feel having their salary witheld at Christmas time.

Was contacted by Protocol about a job that was advertised by them. They contacted me because they found my CV on many job websites. However, despite appearing professional, it's not been that way. Firstly they contacted me many times about a particular job. They asked when it was ok for them to call me. I told them. But, they were not very forthcoming with 'communication' with me. This disappointed me. But, I guess It happens. What alarms me though is that they reached out to me. Sent email after email. Text after text, but then did not really correspond. This baffled me. So, as a result, the job I wanted to be put forward for has now gone. But I'm not gone. And this matter is something that I have deep concerns with. I won't name and shame culprits yet. But, when needed, I will. So over to you Protocol.

Great local employer who provide impressive benefits to staff

First of all my review has nothing to do with the staff who work at the Nottingham office who have been amazing and the reason I know this is because unfortunately they have chosen two of the most incompetent, unprofessional people I have ever had to deal with more or less since I started temping many moons ago, namely Terri Ryan and Robert Goodby, to be based permanently on site as the candidate/client liaison for a FE establishment based in Birmingham and because of their abject behaviour I have had to deal with the Nottingham office on a regular basis. What angers me the most about these two useless individuals is because Protocol has the contract to supply staff for this particular FE establishment I will never be able to work for somewhere where I was really happy in a job that I really enjoyed!!! Of course these two wastes of space won't care as long as they get their commission!!!

I have just been offered (and turned down) a long term contract with a local FE College as an Asdan/Job Coach....something I have years of experience doing. The job was fantastic but the pay was dire! Protocol had negotiated with the college the lowest rate possible.....£9.40 per hour ...yes....under £2 more that the minimum wage....plus £1.60 holiday pay" (which you are not entitled to until Protocol decides to pay you). Absurd! Anybody who works in FE knows that such a position pays at least anywhere between £13-16 per hour. Also the Protocol administration team stated that I would be classed as self employed and could leave at any time but they would automatically put me on the college's payroll system which means I would have had to work six weeks in order to get my first two weeks salary! What a pathetic organisation!"
