I heard that Linfords served up good fish and chips so I travelled to try them.Fish though tasty the batter was oily. The chips soggy, very disappointed.

Service, atmosphere, all spot on, the nicest chips eaten in a long time; but with a solid dry crust and filling thickened, the pie had clearly been sat in the cabinet over time. Will give them a second visit if passing .

The price was reasonable, well cooked, not soggy and chips well cooked and from the taste it seeme like quality oil. We will return, but not soon as waist lines need watching. Reputation deffinately did not disappoint. Date of post 2023/08/02 from north Peterborough (not a fake review)

We were long term satisfied,regular customers in the past. Yesterday we were back in Market Deeping for the first time in 2 years and couldn't wait to revisit. We were incredibly disappointed, the fish and chips are not as nice as they used to be and the portion size is tiny. We ordered the all day special which was described as 'regular' size fish. I hate to think what the 'small' portion looks like! We were charged £31 for that and when the bill came I discovered you have to pay extra for tartare sauce. Really disappointing and not what we expected. Is it normal to be charged for sauces in the UK now? We appreciate costs have risen but this did not feel like good value for money. We won't be back. On a positive note everything was very clean and the service was good.

Most of the time I was on my own apart from the lovely Polish waitress. Great meal but total bill with coffee and icecream £25.

Unfortunately the first and last time we use Linfords. Extremely disappointed with the portion size and how overpriced it is too!! Wouldn't have been so bad if the food tasted nice, but it didn't.The 'regular' chips and large mushy peas looked like a portion size for a child, not an adult. Appreciate a pandemic is on and we all have a loss of earning, but it doesn't justify the high prices for so little in return.

Some of the best chippy food in this area. Fish was fresh with beautifully light batter, the southern fried chicken has the tastiest coating (better than kfc)With outstanding chips.

Staff weren't friendly, eg no smile, the fish was small and the cost was huge at £10.50 for medium fish and chips. I would not go here again, or recommend it.

Lovely fresh fish cooked to perfection with a crunchy and not greasy batter. Not overly expensive and friendly service.
