i had my first cataract operation on the 13th of April i was a bit nervous at first but was soon reassured by the staff what was going to happen before the operation so very helpful did not even feel anything when getting my eye done so professionally done its like seeing everything in HD cannot wait to get my other eye done my thanks to all of the staff and to Mr usman Mahmood the surgeon even after hours if you have any concerns there is always someone to talk to i would highly recommend optegra to anyone many thanks mr mctavy

Cancelled my mums Cateracts op on the day but made her sit there all day despite the cancellation. She is 89 and this is really quite unfair treatment. Then told she will need to wait 3-4 weeks for a new appointment?

Couldn't fault the Optegra eye clinic at Gateshead, they were fantastic. Everyone was friendly, helpful and very professional. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone. Thank you Optegra.

Can only imagine the 5* reviews are from private patients. NHS patients aren't so lucky.. had opp in June, they ran out of eye drops, kept getting ignored, Then, check up cancelled 4 TIMES??next app in OCTOBER no one has bothered asking if my eyes are ok before moving theses appointments!! not very professional would definitely choose a different clinic in hindsight

Not very professional. My father had been sent an appointment to attend optegra so we turned up 10 minutes before appointment time. Only for Receptionist to tell us there is nothing booked in even tho we had appointment letter with us.I called the number on the letter explainingwhat had happened lady said you definitely do have an appointment you need to go back so we returned to optegra explained everything again , manager came she spoke to the lady over the phone who told manager theres definitely a appointment booked thats when optegra manager realised they hadn't put appointment in system. So we were given another date.After the initial appointment my father was sent operation appointment then it was cancelled and re scheduled eventually he had cataract removed they said you will recive follow-up appointment within four weeks.if we didn't receive an appointment we need to call them so nothing came through for four weeks so I called optegra to say why there's no appointment to be told optegra don't do follow-up you need to see your opticians so spoke to opticians they saying we don't do health check optegra should do it.Not a nice experience right hand doesn't know what the left is doing.

Absolutely fantastic , eveyone made u feel so at ease and treatment is unbelievable im 70 yr old and never seen colours so bright and vision is unreal, thank you to all involved x
