The Lime Tree Inn
A real chance find. What a treat. A newish pub with great rooms (well ours was) and great food options. Quality cooking and presentation. Would happily return. If you are looking for a half way stop between the south east and Edinburgh I would recommend. Would have enjoyed a couple of nights. Expect to pay about £45 -£50 per head for 2-3 course meal with glass of wine.

One of the best pub meals I have had. It is extremely rare to find this cuisine level in London pubs. Everything was excellent. It was a real pleasure to have a meal there. I hope I can come back again.

All I can say is absolutely Fantastic Great staff. Great environment food was absolutely beautiful. The muscles were so fresh. The beef just melted in your mouth, and the sticky toffee pudding was out in this world when in York. I will definitely be back thank you so much for the wonderful stay.

An amazing experience. We stayed for just one night. Our room “birch” was spacious and immaculate with a large bathroom. Our stay was so comfortable and the lady who helped us check in and served us breakfast was hospitable and friendly. Their kitchen makes a lot of things in house as seen in the photo. Our breakfast was delicious. Highly recommended!

Had a wonderful two nights stay. The room was beautiful and full of lovely bespoke touches like home made cookies. Breakfast was perfect, the owner came out to speak to us when I asked about the homemade marmalade, such a nice touch.We also had a meal on the first night and once again this didn’t disappoint, food was outstanding and all the sauces, butters and bread were home made and so delicious I had to buy one to take home. We will definitely be back again.

My boyfriend and I went for Sunday lunch and it was the best roast dinner we have ever had. We had the homemade bread and butter to start, beef roast for main and spices apple panna cotta for desert. Everything was perfect and we were so impressed that everything was made from scratch (including the butter and horseradish sauce)! We can’t wait to come back :)

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our meal at The Lime Tree Inn. The setting was warm and welcoming, the service was excellent, and the food was lovely. The menu is a creative spin on traditional dishes. I'm new to the area and am delighted to have this place as our 'local'. We will definitely be back soon.

Had a lovely night stay, rooms were clean. Staff very friendly and the food in the restaurant was delicious. Am looking forward to a return visit, would definitely recommend.
