James Hall & Co Ltd (SPAR)

I have just left this company. I have worked 7 years in total at the post office and 2 yrs of that was under James Hall. They are unprofessional company to work for at . The management is a shambles . They treat people with disrespect and have no time to invest in their staff. A lot of experience staff have left because of how the company is run. They have put a system in place where we log in and out using our thumb because of this poor system and management i have been overpaid in May and July but the company only just realised In August and decided not to pay me at all!!! Instead of giving me an option to pay it back in instalments especially when they are at fault !!! Just to point that I have been doing overtime so was not getting a regular wage for a while. This company is just about money making but on the grounds of treating the staff badly and if your face doesn't fit you are pushed out !!!

Appalling bad driver forced me off the road on 5 June - reported to company and they told me they had checked the CCTV and yes their driver was on the wrong side of the white line - and yes they had reported to their insurance who would cover it - and yes - two weeks later they are doing NOTHING and not accepting liability - their transport manager told me this morning you should not have swerved so that the van could have hit you and then we would know who was wrong" - SHAME ON YOU. BULLIES"

I worked for the company for a little over 1 year in the york store (minimum wage) ...i never took a day off sick & was flexible with my working, i was trained to do everything from the post office, booking papers & mags in & sending unsold back,shelves stock,cashing up(everything) ...i was never connected to cintra ...too cut a long story short i found another job with better working conditions & pay..so when i left they deducted £800+ for holidays (overspent) which i didn't take, even though my signing in was always getting mixed up with somebody else at another store ..i was being passed from payroll to the assistant store manager & nobody helped i just kept getting excuses after excuses..i didn't really have much of a life working here ...but this company i can honestly say is the worst that i have ever worked for & especially living alone with the cost of living crisis going on ...this is just my opinion .

I drove for James Hall a few years ago and I loved it.. yes it's early starts but most of the time back in yard for 4ish.. only done 4 days a week but took home good money..

Absolute joke of a facility! staff have the pace of a sloth. over 3 hours to deliver 7 pallets it’s a genuine laughing stock

I went to garage in a taxi at 2.00 on Manchester Rd they refused to let me buy top at the pay point told me after 11.00 that I can't buy top up I'm disabled with autism and they said you can't buy electric gas or top I was mortified and was taken to another garage and was charged a small fortune by pendle taxis this is not fair I will be reporting this as on Google you advertise hav in a 24hr paypoint I am Grateley disappointed

I started 2 years ago for James Hall as an agency worker and was giving a full time contract after 13 weeks good company to work for I have a strong Scottish accent and everyone made me feel welcome and have no problem with any of the workers you can have laugh and a joke with supervision as long as you do your job

Toxic and unprofessional. Speaking as both a former customer and contractor, I'd advise people to avoid this place. Something in the air" about the place- moody staff
