Ippon Karate Academy Bury

I've been part of the Ippon karate family for a few years now, indirectly through my children. They each started with sessions run by sensei Jason (chief instructor) at their school. Concerned as to whether they're too young, my youngest was 4 when she started and now two years on, she is a Brown belt, a little warrior and confident enough to stand up in front of the club and lead them through the warm up and cool down process.My three children (ages 11, 8 and 6) have been going to karate with Ippon at St Marys in Radcliffe for two years, often 3-4 times a week and they love it. The St Marys club (Radcliffe) is run by sensei Phil, supported by sensai's Pat, Jess and Laurie. There is such a family feel in the club with the advanced grades (of all ages) more than willing to help and teach others.To add to all this, there are plenty of additional sessions/courses through the year where all students have the opportunity to train with World class athletes, each champions in their own right, most notably sensei Junior Lefevre (look him up, watch him on youtube).Training at St Marys RC School in Radcliffe, Castle Armoury in Bury, St Bedes School in Morris Green, St Peters and St Pauls in Bolton and St Marys CE School in Prestwich.

Great Sensei's, friendly environment, my daughter loves it

My family has trained with Sensei Jason and his team for four years. The karate training is of the highest standard; it is varied, enjoyable and a fantastic activity for all of the family. There is a strong club ethos and all ages and abilities are welcome.My two sons have gained skills, confidence and a sense of responsibility which I know will be a great help as they develop and grow.I would highly recommend to anyone considering martial arts for themselves or their family.

Been a member of this club for 10 years now with my son .It has taught my son imparticulary confidence , commitment , punctuality and has given him a sense of responsibility and maturity too .Great friendly and family orientated atmosphere amongst the students of all ages.We have also gained a great social life through the club with events held and outdoor activities .My son has even travelled with Sensei Jason Netherton and other club members to Wales, Ireland and Belgium .Cannot praise this club enough ☺
