Been wanting to visit here for a while, managed to get there today. What a fantastic place! If you like plants that are a little bit out of the norm and garden trying to be as organic as possible and love reusing and recycling, this is the place for you.The layout is fantastic; shady plants are in the shady bits, pond plants by the pond etc. I'm an ambulatory wheelchair user and took my chair with me and, although I didn't need to sit in it, I would have no trouble getting around if I needed to. There's lots of seating dotted around the site and lots of wee pockets of interest; it was a nice day today and I could have happily sat there for hours. There's a whole shed for different bird seeds (shut the door or the squirrels will eat it all!) a refill centre for toiletries, cleaning products and the like and an area for different composts, sand and grit. Plenty of toilets, including a disabled one and composting ones as well as 'proper' toilets. The shop is small but well stocked with local gifts, cards, books, candles etc and the staff are incredibly helpful and friendly.Sorrel Cafe on site is an absolute gem. The food was gorgeous and the coffee is lovely, there's something for everybody. My vegan brownie was delicious and the hummus plates that my family had were really tasty and amazing value for money. All in all, this is a fabulous place with something for everyone. It's a real community hub and Hulme must really benefit from it being here. My son, who is absolutely not a gardener, was so impressed he plans to go back this weekend. Well done to everyone involved; I certainly plan to visit on a regular basis.

This a really chilled out garden centre, nothing pretentious, just pleasant people serving the community.Got a Christmas tree today, and some terracotta pots. Also strolled around to get a few good ideas for home because they've built lots of natural looking areas, for walkways and beds and borders...

Such a wonderful place to visit and buy any of your gardening needs. The coffee shop staff are so wonderful and were so lovely and accommodating. The cats that walk around are gorgeous company when exploring all the plants! The little shop at the start also has amazing gifts and is one of my go-tos when I don't know what to buy someone!

They've updated the layout since the last time I was there and it's made a huge improvement. It feels much more like a professional garden centre whereas before it felt like a community project. This isn't a pro or a con but if you're anything like me then be prepared to find yourself lost at some point. One thing I think this place needs is a much better selection of pots. It would be even better if they hosted some 'make your own' pottery events.

I love this place, very peaceful and chill. Staff are very friendly & they let you look around for as long as you need to, without interrupting. They are helpful, just ask. There is a little cafe too ( I'm yet to visit it). The shop is spacious & has lots of interesting stuff. They also have a 'pot rescue' where you can take old/ used pots home for free!! different sizes & all in good condition. Sending lots of love to the people who work here :)*You will also find 2 little cute cats hanging around, so adorable!

An oasis of nature in the middle of the city.Lovely place for having a break and a cup of a tea. Friendly staff. The garden features different spaces available for activities, classes and for hire. There is a refill station for detergents/cleaning products and the shop sells a good variety of eco friendly products.Kids and family will love visiting the garden, as there are lots of fun and interesting events happening throughout the year. And 2 lovely resident cats help making the visitors feel welcome. What's not to love?

Just visited their newly opened cafe and eatery and was very impressed. Lovely friendly service with handy recommendations - always good to have. The food was soooo tasty - I had goats cheese and chutney sandwich on sourdough that all was fresh and yummy. Friend had vegan bacon and egg sandwich which he said was really tasty and fulfilling. A couple of coffees in gorgeous (handmade?) cups and saucers. Then we had a look around the new shop - much bigger and with more to choose from compared with the old shop. Really happy I went and that they’re only around the corner from home. We’ll be back for a Sunday brunch soon!
