Smaller of the stores in Sunderland, stocks a good range but bakery and some shelves are often empty if you get there after the rush. Quite often queues at tills and not enough staff, at busy times, but the staff are very quick at what they do. Unless you only have one or two items I would avoid self service.It was always cheaper than other supermarkets. I've noticed really significant price hikes over the last year (2023), but they seem to be very quickly dropping the prices as energy costs and so on come down.

Nice shop. Clean. Staff helpful, shelves full! Some lovely red wines at a reasonable price.

A great place for variety of items

I'm normally an Aldi shopper but my local one is closed for a refurb so Lidl got my custom this week. Definitely things I like here, the fresh bread and pastries, there's a decent selection of cooked meats and an okay cheese section. Fruit and veg are very similar to Aldi (everything is to be honest) and love that they have padron peppers available. Plenty of regular meats to choose from. In fact it's all very very similar to Aldi. The pizzas have the same toppings, the freezer section is all very familiar, it's Aldi but... I just don't think it's quite as good. Several of the things I bought in my weekly shop looked like Aldi things but just weren't as tasty or maybe just not to my taste. I'll definitely be back for the aforementioned fresh bread and pastries and the 'once it's gone it's gone' world food stuff (especially the Greek and Italian weeks) but I won't do a proper shop here again unless I have to.

Great selection of products available, always worth a visit for their bakery selection and breads.I do think they could improve their bread offerings, I've never seen any 'pitta' or low calorie breads/thins but that's a minor gripe.

It's not a bad store, but limited good quality range. Love the bakery ! Pleased that baked products are not in plastic ! However, no attempt to provide unpackaged food! Absence of smart tills is a real pain !!

One of my favourite shops. Takes me 10 minutes to get there on my mobility scooter. Friendly staff. Some very good bargains in the middle, aisles. I go for my fresh meat. Always has a good date on it normally a week.. They have a bakery selection. Fruit and veg as well as tinned food some frozen foods. A very good shop, based in a good location.
