Kelbrook Lodge Shooting School

We were booked in for Christmas eve a few years ago. We attended having never done shooting before. We were greeted by a very friendly member of staff who let us know of what activity we had booked. We were taken out by a gentleman called Michael (Who turned out to be Michael Meggison the owner!). In a way Michael made our day and experience amazing. We were mid 20s and dressed in our own clothes and clearly did not have a clue how to shoot. First of all the friendliness of Michael was amazing. We chatted with him like we had known him years and even stayed for a coffee after to discuss his career in shooting. We are both very hands on people and pick up activities quickly but the knowledge that Michael had and passed on to us about shooting was responsible for how good we were. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience! Thank you for passing on your knowledge and help Michael! I would 100% recommend to book here even if you have never gone shooting as they will welcome you openly and ensure you have a fantastic time!

Visited here as a surprise from my Husband and spent the afternoon with Geoff. What an absolute diamond he was, really skilled and knowledgeable. Put our minds at ease explaining all we needed to know about safety and how to correct the shoot to hit the clay. Even though I'd never used a shotgun before, to my surprise I actually did hit some which was an amazing feeling. Session was nearly 3 hours round the course trying different directions of the clays.I have fibromyalgia and when I struggled with the weight of the shotgun, he brought me a lighter one with different ammo and even a cup of tea which was so thoughtful.Will definitely be going backDonna and John

As a keen clay shooter, I was lucky enough to spend a couple of days here, whilst I was in the area for family reasons and thought I’d share my experience. In all honesty.. I’m not an avid ‘reviewer’… so the fact I’ve written this, should be enough for you to realise, I certainly enjoyed my time here.Firstly, Kelbrook Lodge, is located in a stunning part of the world, the weather was kind to me and the views were spectacular. I had a warm welcome from everyone in the Lodge, which compact, but was well stocked and well presented, with new and used shotguns, cartridges and all other paraphernalia, it is everything you want from a Gun room.Once out on the range, the layout of the traps and shooting stands are well established and thought out, if a little tight, everything is very well maintained, clean and tidy, there is a fantastic variety of clays to shoot, from crossing rabbits, low away to driven high birds, there really is something for all standards of shot, all traps I used, worked well with the Claymate system, I had minimal no-birds.The café is a fantastic addition to the grounds. It was warm, clean and the staff were very friendly, the food and drinks i ordered, were freshly made with good quality produce. All served, at reasonable prices. Well worth a visit.Happy to give Kelbrook Lodge Shooting School 5* and will certainly visit again, if i'm in the area.

My husband and I had a fabulous shooting lesson here today with Geoff Priestly. It was absolutely fantastic! It was my first time shooting and I wasn’t expecting to hit many clays. Geoffs instructions were second to none and doubt I’d have hit any without them. Fabulous set up with lots of variety and layouts. Think I’ve got the bug now! We’ll definitely be back. Thanks for such an amazing experience

Went here for my 30th birthday present it was amazing. Geoff our instructor could not have been more helpful in teaching 4 of us complete novice to shoot. Highly recommended even on a windy day.

Fabulous estate with a great team!!Treated to a 50 clay shoot by my fiancé which was an unforgettable experience.The whole facility is unbelievably clean and well set out. Very jealous of the owner who lives on site.

Top quality shooting ground. The breakfast is 10/10, the amount of stands and the variety of clays just makes this place one of the best. Purchased both of my guns from here and the knowledge and customer service you receive is outstanding. Look forward to coming back every time.
