Absolutely lovely woodland area with lots of different paths and bridleways! Better for slightly older kids going for a hike as too rugged for any kind of pushchair, but older kids will be able to appreciate the place a bit more anyway. At plenty if points I found myself hearing the birds through the place, though do be aware of both the steepness in places and the sound being relatively close to the main road.

Bisham Woods
A special woodland area consisting of 86 hectares of woodland, with occasional lookouts over Marlow, Chiltern hills and the River Thames. Percy Bysshe Shelley wrote the poem the Revolt of Islam in the area in 1817 and the woods also provided inspiration for Kenneth Grahame's Wild wood in the wind of the willows. Bisham woods is also the site of Bisham Quarry, an important medieval source of stone, much of which was
used to build Windsor Castle.

This place is beautiful. It's near the duel carriage way but the further you walk into the wood the less you hear it. There are fantastic views. I went in the evening as the sun was setting and the views were exceptionally beautiful. You could see across the valley and see Marlow below. There are plenty of pathways and you can lose yourself without really seeing anymore else. It's clean, with hardly any litter which is amazing. It's also a historic wood that use to belong to Bisham Abbey back in the middle ages. You can almost imagine the monks walking through it. Its a perfect place for walking dogs, cycling and taking your kids on a day out. It's a huge wood, with plenty of space to get lost in. There isn't any toilets nearby though. There is parking at the top of the hill or on the bottom of the hill ( but at the bottom it's very limited).

Lovely place for a short hike. Not very far from here is the Copas Turkey and Cookham village, which definitely added on to our experience that day.

Beautiful woodland area with numerous paths meandering through the wonderful tall trees. I walked my dog here, it was a nice cool place for her to walk on a warm day. There are trails for bikes here too so it really is great. Well worth a visit.
