Unfortunately a real nightmare of events from JDP.£14,000 wrapping paper order that arrived in a frankly disgusting state.The bags used to packaging the paper into sets of four were thin and cheap, sealed with various styles of tape that stuck to each other and barely sealed the bags at all.The packaging was outsourced to a company that used home workers, meaning all of my wrapping paper had dog hair inside, food stains and crumbs. You may think this is just a few packs, but it was 20,000 packs of items that arrived this way.The order was meant to be delivered within two weeks, this was agreed before the order was placed as it was Christmas paper. In total, the two week order took nearly six weeks and only just made it into stock in time. We had to re-package a lot of the packs and also re-box every single box as heavy paper was sent in single wall cardboard boxes which upon arrival were in a very sorry state.JDP had every opportunity to rectify these problems, most obviously with a discount at the very least, but I was met with deflection and excuses for weeks. I was made to feel like a troublemaker and complainer.The orders arrived bit by bit for weeks, and at the end of this sorry state of affairs we were still missing at least a pallet of paper.. when I asked about it I was told it's all been delivered, nothing more to say. Luckily the pallet turned up two days later and they admitted they made an error, but the consensus was it was my problem and they were not willing to help.Weeks later I then had a phone call from Bryan at JDP regarding the order and what seemed to be a follow up apology for all of the problems encountered. I was at this point still very angry about the whole situation and the poor response from JDP to actually put their hands in their pockets and compensate me past the 15% they gave me.. 10% of which was actually from the packaging company as told by another staff member.I can only say that Bryan made the whole situation a lot worse, patronising and belittling the experience I had with them under the guise of understanding and trying to help.. merrily chuckling away in an inappropriate manner and making light of the situation.I was told I could have further 5% discount on future orders if I agree to two or three future orders with them the next year, where they would show they could meet my expectations. The final insult was that I requested the discount be increased FROM 15% to 20-25% at least and I would consider returning next year... after a 45 minute phone call was told he would ask the director and get back to me asap. I never heard from him or anyone else from JDP about it again.I can wholeheartedly say, that in over 10 years in the printing industry I have never received such poor quality items and service from a company. See photo's attached, we had seven pallets of this paper in total, and most was contaminated, all arrived in poor quality sandwich type bags and in single wall boxes which you can see didn't even make it here still intact.At the time we ordered the exact same quantities and splits from another printer which arrived on time and in pristine condition.
