Decor a little tired but really friendly and helpful staff help to give the place a good atmosphere. Great place to pop in for a drink or two, especially if you are killing time between trains as it is close to the Station.

The staff were friendly and the cost of a room was very reasonable. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Although being next to a main road it wasn't that noisy. You could also hear the conversation from the bar but it wasn't unbearable, however they do say its loud at weekends. The toilet and shower were reasonable and the water was hot and pressure good. The TV worked but there was no signal on any channels! If you're looking to impress this isn't the place, if your looking for somewhere to pit stop then it did just fine.

There is nothing memorable about this pub apart from its location outside the castle. There was no atmosphere. The selection of cask beers was not great but what there was was served reasonably well.

No problems, easy check in. Pretty much right next door to the train station, which was handy as i had a train to catch first thing. Room all good, clean, comfy bed, toilet and shower fine. Room was a bit hot, fan was provided and i left the window open so it cooled down at night. No complaints, and would use again if i am ever back in the area. I cant comment on the bar or the drinks, as did not use them, shame tho as it looked welcoming enough.

Excellent location and a nice lively sports bar. Our room was on the top floor (45 rickety stairs to climb) which wasn't a problem for us. The twin room (No7) was a decent size, the beds (in my opinion) were very hard and not the most comfortable, lots of tea and coffee provided with good size mugs, small tv, hairdryer, iron, ironing board and fan also in the room. Free Wi-Fi is a bonus. Our only problem was the en-suite. It was far too small, the toilet seat was wobbly, the shower was situated on a high platform and was very awkward to get in as the doors slid closed as I tried to get in, there was significant mould about the shower which could easily have been sorted with a good dose of bleach, there was also a constant nasty sewer smell from the en-suite. As the hotel is in the centre of town, there was a lot of noise at night (again didn't bother us) so beware if you are looking for a quiet location this is not the place for you. Parking is just a couple of minutes walk away at the train station and is £5.85 for 24hrs, so that is very reasonable. The hotel don't provide any food but there are loads of places to eat close by, we recommend the little pie and bap shop a few doors up from the hotel for tasty pasties and sausage rolls at a cheap price. Would I visit again, probably yes but I'd ask for a different room because of the en-suite being awful.

For a budget room you get what you pay for. It's very close to the train station and eating places! Which we loved. There was no hair dryer in our room, although that's listed as one of the amenities. We wanted a double bed but instead got two single beds pushed together. For the price we paid can't complain too much though

honestly not that great. coped with as we were out most of the time but would not stay again. bathroom was mouldy and wallpaper was gross and looked very damp. lots of dead spiders and cobwebs. the duvet had an old brown blood stain on the inside. bathroom very inaccessible, had to walk through the door sideways to get in. shower has steps up to it and door does not close tight.bed was comfy, bar staff were lovely, didn’t hear noise from the bar at night which was nice. good place near the train station. but unfortunately do not recommend.

Decent beer and just up the road from the railway station, so ideal for a few sherberts before boarding the train.

This hotel and bar is situated in an ideal place for both Shrewsbury station and the town centre. The owner is very knowledgeable of the town and, like the staff here, very friendly. If you are looking for a cosy place to stay for a short period, look no further.
