Had some cute homeware and boots - which were what I was looking for - but didn't look at much else so can't say what the selection was like. They have a selection of cute Christmas homeware stuff.

The lady at the customer service refused to let me exchange my item because I didn't have a receipt. I explained nicely that I had made the purchases a week ago and only wanted to exchange to a bigger size, bare in mind items had their tags and hangers. I had to then show her from my bank account that I had made the transaction last week. After then, she agreed to exchange. She should not be working at customer service as she is unaware of Matalan policy where it clearly states that items without a receipt, can be exchanged or given voucher.

My daughter was sent a couple of bits of clothing for her 6th birthday from her Nanny which were too small for her. I tried to exchange them, like for like, for the next size up and the store assistant and manager wouldn’t let me. Unbelievable how heartless some store staff can be, when it was for a little girls birthday gift from her Nanny and she is left with clothes which she can’t wear. Disgusted. This was in the Matalan Reading, UK store. Vile.

Still a great bargains store mainly for garments and household items with good quality and a convenient free parking.Unfortunately the changing rooms were disgustingly unclean with fluff on the floor, litter and as if it had not been cleaned or vacuumed for ages.

*Matalan is affordable*You can see all nearby schools outfit here like coley wren katesgrove etcAnd normal grey/black pants skirts etcAnd have all kinds of dresses for men women children and infantsincludes normal pyjamas winter wears and all kinds of kids nd grownups jewellery.They have a very good collection of lady canvas shoes.The homestore inside does not have plenty of options but still you can go through it..I think the quality is good but not perfect.

Always clean and tidy (and cool in this heat). I used to be a supervisor here so I know it is run well. Only down was that the toilets weren't working and they didn't have any kids summer jackets/macs available in store.

Full of good quality uniform for kids. Shoes last long as well. Always get most of my clothes from them as last long and realy good quality.

be careful when using this store. I have received a parking fine for being over the white line alongside my car. I had to do this as all the disabled spaces were taken and I needed room to get the doors open. now I'm £100 lighter. I1 did write to the store but they said its nothing to do with them.

Happy with shop itself but car park company is really rubbish. Got fined because I wasn't parked within the white lines even though itnwasny my fault as there are no child/parent car spaces and I was struggling to come out of the car and get my 2 year old out
