Gets a lot of freight! I live 19 minutes away from it and its very good for me as I'm a train enthusiast and I film loads, loads of freight and other trains!

The facilities are reasonable. It could do with a cafe & a small shop for newspapers. The staff are professional & helpful. The waiting room could open longer. The car parking is amble. The alterations to the platform areas are poor: the shelters are smaller, drafty & much less comfortable overall. This was a tangible & real step backwards in valuing passengers, or customers as modern parlance would have it.

Absolutely ridiculous that you have 3 staff members all guarding the exit of the platforms just to check tickets.Why do you need 3 people standing there doing nothing other than checking my ticket for the 3rd time on my journey aswell as making me late to places I need to be. It’s a joke.

It's a good thing to have because this makes getting into Leeds or Sheffield so easy. Obviously then you can get to any station, so it's great. Clean, super easy to navigate. A bonus is it has a co-working / little office for if you need to have a meeting or send some emails. I think it's a company called WorkFromHub.

Swinton Interchange is a bare bones station with a total of three(3) platforms. Whilst the amenities here are lacking (toilets, vending machines etc.) the station is kept clean and is well looked after.The station offers wheelchair accessibility for all platforms and has an adjoining carpark with accessible parking and drop-off points.

Staff someines helpful, sometimes downright surly. Can even pick up reserved tickets here at last (which is great) watch out for relatively short hours where staff are in ticket office however. Not sure the loos are open when there's no-one in the ticket office.

Toilet's are closed and no one's ever in the ticket office after 2.p.m ish and weekends it's pretty much the same, tannoy's always playing up here aswell.

Opening hours are 07:00 - 13:30 Mon-Sat and closed all day Sunday. Considering a lot of guards don't know how short the opening hours are from here be prepared to be interrogated as to why you didn't buy a ticket from the ticket office.
