XL Joinery doors are rubbish. I bought two doors from them:Stable 1 Light Singh This is not a tongue-and-groove door. The central section of the door is a panel made up of planks glued edge-to-edge. Grooves are then cut in to the panel to make it look like t&g. These planks have separated and I've had to seal the splits with mastic. Absolutely disgusting quality.La Porte French Doors. These have distorted and will not close. I currently have them jammed closed with a plank and am waiting for them to be replaced with a set from XL. I have little hope that the replacements will be any better. Another disaster.Steer clear of this company based on my experience. (Both doors lasted only a couple of months.). . . . . . . . . . . . . It's a couple of months later now. XL replaced the French doors and my joiner fitted them. After a couple of weeks they became hard to close. In order to get them sufficiently closed to raise the lever handle I had to give the second door an almighty slam. This has become more and more difficult. Then it became impossible to turn the key to lock the door from the inside so I had to lock it from outside. Yesterday it became impossible to lock it from either inside or outside and the door now remains unlocked. I am now considering fitting surface bolts top and bottom - which will not look very elegant from our lounge.Meanwhile the stable door is jamming in its frame and the boards are opening up.BE WARNED.

Where to even start with this companyWhat a shambles they areThe doors arrived cracked . Glass squares were not symmetrical in the slightest . Marks all over themTook WEEKS to even get an answer about returning or refunding , staff are absolutely useless to be polite.Making the process hard as possibleFinally sent a replacement after chasing them up for god knows how long to only be sent ones that were even worse if that was even possibleThe delivery driver said he is constantly returning doors back to them and sees them throwing doors sent back on a pile to be shipped out to the next customerWell the doors really so show that is the truthI would avoid at all costs .Don’t waste you’re time or money on these there absolutely awful.

The external oak chancery door I purchased over 5 year ago is still as good as new.It was great to be able to contact their technical department on a Saturday to discuss door maintenance . The service provided after sales and product is a great example of a well run user friendly company .Thanks

Good quality doors. A bit pricey but worth every penny. You bet what you pay for. I used these doors in my previous home too. I highly recommend the solid oak doors.

Last year, I had serious issues with an external door supplied by XL Joinery which eventually, I had to replace at full cost to myself. The company took a long time to respond to my previous review but now they have and as a result, I have received some compensation. The person who recently contacted me was polite and professional and willing to listen to the details of the problem. I hope this improved customer service will help the company in the future.

Pine internal doors look good on arrival, but are useless when fitted. The veneer is so poor it bubbles when trying to finish. Only option is to sand, fill, then paint, which defeats the point of having them. I will never buy from this shoddy company again.

I bought 4 internal bi-fold doors that are advertised as primed and unfinished.I painted them with quality Benjamin Moor paint.The paint just peeled off them!!!! the surface of these doors is virtually paint repellent. I have to do a huge and expensive job of scraping the paint, sanding the surface, priming and painting it again. I’m actually very angry and want to warn anyone who is considering XL joinery doors to stay away from them.on the photo - in the process of doing the horrible job of sanding the newly painted doors, just because paint doesn’t stay on their supposedly primed surface

We were looking for both fire and standard doors. We called requesting for some samples as most of the resellers are closed for display due to covid. Initially did not get much response but Zoe from XLjoinery helped us throughout from sending samples, quotations, sale process and then a follow-up call after three weeks to make sure everything was still ok! This experience itself gave us significant confidence. Regarding the quality of the doors they are really good very heavy and good build. Delivered on time as promised. The delivery driver was very courteous. Overall a very happy customer and no hesitation is recommending XLjoinery.

Their Credit control department is a joke! credit control dept and returns dept have no communications in between. They keep chasing payment for items returned and collected by their drivers, no one have answers to questions , they kept putting on hold or asking to contact the next departments- such a time waste .
