Small fort with replica cannons, conferring good views across the bay. The displays were informative and it is a decent place to while away ten minutes.

Interesting and well preserved 18th century fort overlooking Lerwick. A pity that none of the buildings inside is opened to the public by Historic Scotland but it's still interesting to wander around and the views over the sound to Bressay are impressive.

Nice to pass through if your nearby in the town centre.The place is great for a history lesson as are many places in the town.Interesting place if you like that kind of stuff and a great view onto the harbour

Fort Charlotte, 179 Commercial St, Lerwick, Shetland ZE1 0HX. Walked by around 9pm one evening and the grounds were still open so went inside for a walk around. Great views of Lerwick and across to Bressay with some good photo opportunities. Although none of the buildings were open we were still able to spend thirty to forty minutes walking around the grounds reading some of the public information posted around the walls and buildings.

Fort Charlotte overlooks Lerwick harbour with some obstruction from newer buildings. There are good information boards on the site explaining the history of the fort.

Nice place. Open without any tickets. Enjoying thinking back to the situation back in 1700.

It's a nice fort and we'll worth visiting. Only took 10 mins to look round but there's some info boards and the kids climbed on the cannon, nice views.

Very easy to get too,can be seen clearly when entering the Town.Easy entry by a main entrance or by a side walkway.Grounds are well maintained with the usual information boards in place.
