Great coastal location. Sandy beaches. Lots of rock pools. Can be busy but gets quieter the further out you go. Great place to visit through to get to the castle.

Beautiful place and a lovely circular walk to break the day up. Even better when the sun is shining. Sandy beach and very clean but no loos. You'll.need to walk along to low newton for that, but that's also worth a visit too.

Met some runners from the famous annual Castles and Islands Race early one morning. They were running back from their fifth castle overnight and then rowing back to their yacht to race back to Amble.Shared our huge bacon butties (from Dunstanbrough Golf Club) with the marshalls.

We decided to do a beach walk at one lovely evening after visiting Seahouses while going back to Alnwick, and randomly choose Low Newton, we parked in a layby as we arrived 10 minutes before the carpark became free at 6pm. It wasn't very busy but we didn't walk very far as it was high tide, however the view along the beach is stunning of Dunstanburgh Castle, would highly recommend. The green space outside the fishing houses (which are now holiday lets) and pub was busy but it was another bit of interest on our walk.
