Western Lady Ferry Service

Sad to say the 1st time we walked away without tickets. Understandably the fact they couldn’t book returns as the weather was slightly unpredictable but being told the dog had to be paid for was a deal breaker. We’ve used the service many many times over 7 yrs and we have an extremely small dog that is carried everywhere , we have never been asked for a payment. She would take no seat and neither would she be on the floor. A child under 5 is free, who would possibly take a seat and could possibly be a bit of a problem if left to run about. Even though the price is not an issue, the lack of the ticket woman using her initiative and seeing the reason behind my thinking wasn’t even worth me trying to make her see my objection were valid. I’m disappointed but not surprised, we are living with a lot of companies squeezing every penny they can from people.

If anyone is looking for a nice relaxing trip across the bay to Brixham look no further. This service is great value and would definitely recommend it for taking the kids out for an amazing afternoon.

The best way of traveling from Brixham to Torquay. We sat at the front on the outside and the views were beautiful.

Took the ferry from Brixham across Torbay which we do once a year on our family holiday, but this time with a grandson . We all love the ferry. Sit at the bow if calm sea , if choppy sea then sit inside . Captain and his crew are great .

Absolutely brilliant trip from Torquay to Brixham. Never thought that we would see much wildlife but amazingly we saw Dolphins and Seals . The trip only cost £4 ( one way ) it was priceless such wonderful animals in there natural environment.

As a Guernsey resident, traveling to Herm or Sark doesn't compare to this ferry experience. It's more like a boat tour than a typical ferry ride. The captain, Steve (I believe), shared interesting details about the landscape/coastline and history during the trip. It's quite affordable too, costing only £9 for a return ticket per adult. The journey takes around half an hour, and there are refreshments available onboard. The seating may not be the most comfortable, but that's might be because the vessel, the Dart Venturer, was built in 1982. The frequent timings make it convenient, although it can get busy at times.

Smooth trip across the bay from Torquay-Brixham and return knowledgable/funny commentary off both captains on each of the ferries.
