David Findlay of PCS conducted a damp survey of our home. His findings were, in my view, completely inaccurate, lazy and tired. We have a home monitoring system that David was unaware of and when using data such as relative humidity, temperature, and many more sensors and data points to challenge his opinion, David refused to listen or offer any meaningful or skilful solutions to the problem but became defensive and kept talking over me. He clearly had an opinion but when challenged failed to evidence his opinion in a professional or expert manner, preferring to shutdown the conversation. The problem now remains and we're in no better position than we were before the survey. My recommendation would be to find a different surveyor who can evidence their findings and overcome challenges with expertise - not bluster.

I contacted Property Conservation Services to apply some damp proofing and replaster two walls of my house.They have been quick and accommodating in booking both the survey visit and the works. In three days everything was finished and so far we’re really happy with the result.

Ian came out to our property to check the moisture levels in our floor as we had been told by a flooring company they may be to high for the flooring we wanted. Ian was extremely knowledgeable. He explained that the quarry tiles we have would be fine with the click flooring we have chosen as it’s breathable. He explained everything thoroughly and was very helpful. Excellent company to deal with from survey to admin to work carried out, everyone has been extremely helpful and professional. The work was finished today and it looks very good, the room was left clean and tidy. A well-deserved 5-star review from me for damp work done to the old cottage I have just moved into - membrane on walls and injecting and rendering a damp chimney breast. From the initial contact and survey, the report and quote to booking dates and the work being done, everything was spot on. The team were flexible when I wanted to change the dates at the last minute and flexible when they discovered I had increased the size of the fireplace and it now also required lime render inside. The team were friendly and a pleasure to have around. The additional cost for the extra work was minimal and I am delighted with the result. An unequivocal endorsement for PCS from me. Thanks.
