Absolutely gorgeous cake for my sons first birthday! It was everything I imagined and more! Tasted absolutely gorgeous aswell!

Russels cakes is the place to go for your celebration cake. I ordered this mini cake and it tasted as beautiful as it looked. Highly recommend and Rebecca is so friendly!

I did a cake decorating workshop here in January and completely forgot to review at the time, but as I am currently making my second cake since it has reminded me! Rebecca was fantastic during the workshop, she was very attentive, patient, and helpful. I went in having never done any cake decoration before and came out very proud of what I had learnt and achieved in a few short hours! The cakes and buttercream had been premade (and were delicious!) leaving us able to completely focus on decorating skills. I learnt to cut the cakes evenly, fill them, crumb coat, colour buttercream and coat the cake properly, including achieving a smooth finish, plus how to pipe and add some decorations. I was given complete free reign over my designs and nothing was too much to ask. I really enjoyed the night and would highly recommend it to someone considering a cake decorating course/workshop. While I am by no means anywhere near professional standard, I am now confident and competent creating simply decorated cakes for family, thank you Rebecca!

Wow, wow, wow, what an amazing cake! Designed on a Star Wars theme and baked at Russell’s - it looked amazing and tasted fabulous too! Can’t recommend highly enough. Thank you! You helped make our son’s 18th birthday really special.

Ordered a coffee sponge cake for my daughters 18th, so pleased with it the cake looked amazing and tasted lovely. Would definitely recommend for anyone wanting a special occasion cake.

Awful customer service! Ordered a blue dinosaur chocolate cake, with a rainbow bow tie. I arrived and it was a standard 6 inch cake with a tiny 2D light blue dinosaur with a bow tie that definitely wasn't rainbow. There was still icing sugar or flour all over it. The cake was wonky, and the decoration was like a rough green paint with brown random lodges. Very poorly done, messy and rushed. When I questioned her about what the green lodges were she went into the back mumbling to herself which was extremely unprofessional! Offered me a refund but I had no back up plan for a cake so explained this. No partial refund offered, just cake or refund. When we cut the cake it was also standard sponge, not chocolate. When I questioned her she basically said if the person it was for enjoyed it what was the problem. She then blocked me. Only gave it an extra star because apparently it tasted nice. Not the only person to have a problem with this place, and hopefully she sorts herself out as it's no surprise it isn't doing very well if this is how she treats customers.

I ordered a large 60th Birthday Cake from Becky on a Tuesday which I collected on the Saturday of the same week. I gave Becky a simple outline of what I wanted and she more than exceeded my expectations. The cake was a four layer chocolate sponge covered in vanilla buttercream and decorated in silver coloured bits and pieces with chocolates & Macarons. It was stunningly beautiful and more importantly the chocolate cake tasted delicious.Becky was great to deal with and I would honestly recommend this shop to anyone who wanted a special cake for a special celebration. Thank you Becky so very much, you helped make my Family Birthday Lunch perfect!

I cannot recommend Russell's enough ... Best sponge cake I have ever tasted. We asked for a DJ decks cake for my son's 21st which was fantastic. Rebecca is so helpful and will work with you for what you require. She also sells slices in the shop ... Definitely worth a visit

Called in today as we were passing having noticed the macarons. As we like a good macaron we always try one as a sample to save unnecessary expense on below average examples.My wife chose the salted caramel and I chose the pistachio, both were very dry and crumbly no unctuous chewyness just dry crumbly powder. Size varied greatly, the caramel was around 50mm dia and the pistachio to our surprise when removed from the bag was barely 30mm. We don't mind paying for quality but these were probably the worst macarons we've ever had.
