I gave birth October 2022 in the Mid Led unit (Lavender Room). The room is amazing! So calm and spacious. The midwives were excellent! I would highly recommend giving birth here.

Such an amazing birth experience at good hope in the midwifery unit.Thankyou to the midwife’s who helped me through this experience they was brilliant. Definitely couldn’t fault them or the hospital . Thankyou to the midwife’s who was on shift on 2nd November 2023

Very good service at Good Hope. I had my antenatal appointments here and I always received good care. I felt they are human-oriented, always explain everything with details.I also had to be admitted to the pediatric department twice in last year. Once with my 2 year old and this week with my newborn. Always the service was outstanding here. I feel my babies are in good hands. Thank you

Gave birth to my daughter here, mid covid in 2020. Was stressful as I wasn't able to see anyone and despite being induced was not progressing. Midwives offered a c section which happened within 3 days. The care by the staff was fantastic, made my first experience of birth very positive, assisted me with breastfeeding, changing nappies etc and had a right laugh with some of them. Would certainly recommend the maternity unit

Dreadful treatment. Total lack of coordination and respect towards patients. Empty wards, no staff, no care, no hope. Went twice for a scheduled induction an was sent home after staying for 3 hours. If it was private it would have closed down long ago. Let's not forget to clap for the NHS.

The most amazing team for pregnancy care. All midwifes were so supportive, friendly and non judgemental.Listened to my view and what i would like. Amazing care taken of me and my baby and also my partner.I also had the most amazing student midwife on the postnatal ward called Mollie who was just perfect.Highly recommend this hospital for midwifey care.

Very very poor pre birth and post birth care. Conflicting advice/opinions leading to unnecessary distress during the whole of the pregnancy and after the birth. If you can go elsewhere my advice would be to do so, particularly if you are “high risk.” I am sure there are positive experiences at this unit but my daughter and her new baby’s wasn’t one of them . The whole experience has tainted what should have been, and could have been a joyful event . They are both home now recovering and receiving the care and support they both should have received during their stay.

Our high risk baby and mother were continually neglected. None of our concerns or wishes were respected at all. The amount of undue stress put on all of us due to their inability to organise any sort of birth plan should be criminal. If you're told something, don't believe it. Different doctor will be on shift tomorrow to tell you otherwise.
