A very complete selection. You simply don't get an afrobeats section in most stores, nor do you get so many rarities across the board, nor do you get the richness of choice. Prices are fair, it's certainly not cheap, but one can expect budget prices at a store that offers substantially less

The only place I could find the most recent reissue of Iron Maiden's 'Powerslave' new without paying Discogs prices. Unfortunately the top of the sleeve had taken some damage which was spotted by South's Richard.Richard contacted me promptly and we exchanged messages about whether I wanted to go ahead or might accept a discount on postage etc. In the end Richard ended up knocking more money still, which he didn't have to as I was happy with the compromise already.The record itself is spot on, and came quicker than expected and very well packaged.I'd like to say you can buy from South with confidence. They have integrity, honesty, great communication and great customer care. It's often the way with smaller shops and Indies so support them when you can!As Lemmy once remarked at the start of 'Funny Farm'...top notch!

Yes I have been to better, but the environment is unbeatable, I always find something even if it's just CDs. Compared to the other music store around the corner, some of the price are extremely good value. Even for some new pressings. Definitely one of my regulars

Decent selection of new and used and better than normal selection of used indie vinyls. Prices were fair without being spectacular, walked away with a couple of nice vinyls in top condition.Wouldn't recommend asking whether they can knock a couple of quid off any items, as you can in most independents if you're buying a few things, given the reaction I got. Just leave it on the shelf!

Amazing record shop in the heart of the city of Southend-on-Sea. Amazing variety, eclectic and always new stock to look at. Records are always in pristine condition too!

Very rude person who messaged me on Discogs regarding an order I placed yesterday. It was the wrong pressing and I realised afterwards, yes my fault. I got refunded but I also got a horrible sarcastic message that followed. Someone needs lessons in customer service.

Great record shop! Great people, great selection of new and used records but most of all it's a lovely friendly experience. Most record shops involve listening to a bloke who smells faintly of BO and halitosis talk about how they discovered the smiths at the hacienda in 83 before you can actually find what you want in unlabelled stacks of records. Here everything is simply laid out and everyone smells lovely and is very friendly and informative without being condescending. Prices on the used records are really good and there is no overinflation on the new ones.Keep up the good work chaps!
