RUBY Pub & Hotel
Small room but very clean and comfortable. with a great shower. Suffered from some road noise being so close to the main road.Main reason for booking was it is within walking distance of the Xmas stadium where I was attending a Xmas Dinner. Access to the rooms is via a secure day to the side of the pub so no need to go through a busy bar.

Room was small for the price.Towels had a dirty damp smell, never used them, large piece of cardboard used as cover under sink. Toilet roll stood next to Toilet!Nasty cobwebs all over windows, obviously not been properly cleaned for months.Bed and pillows lumpy,Base of bed was a home made mdf box,Very noisy outside all night.

Rooms were small but comfortable and clean, with great shower. Breakfast in the ajoining cafe was very good. Bit of music from the pub below, but finished at 11pm - to be expected. Really great location for access to walking paths on South Downs, a little bit out of Brighton town centre, but well-served with buses.

The pub was nice! Really bad parking though, they didn’t tell us there was a rave going on that weekend, so music was booming!We returned at 11:45 and there was a fight almost breaking out, the barmaid (who was really lovely) ushered everyone off eventually but people were still sat down there till 2 talking and we had to have our windows openThe rooms were clean and presentable tho and comfortable but cardboard under sink looked in finished at least paint them

In my second year of uni & living nearby. Would choose visiting this pub over a night out in town, always a great crowd and lovely staff, everyone is super nice the music is fab. It feels rlly safe, would recommend visiting to anyone looking for a lovely evening with friends or family.

room was small but clean. Bed linen was awful, old and looked used. Pillow very lumpy and not fit for purpose. Shower was great, bathroom sink very tiny. Cafe next door was fabulous. Great food, amazing value and lovely owners who were very welcoming. We would not stay there again, even though location was good for Stanmer Park concerts.

So i booked this stay as i felt that it was close to the location i needed to be and because it was a pub/hotel/restaurant, it would mean we would not have to go far to eat or have entertainment in the evenings. I will say the lady at the bar was lovely and showed us our room and said if there was anything she could do to help to let her know. We were completely thrown as instead of their being food the restaurant was closed. The front desk for the hotel was the bar! which was very weird and not private at all. The room....(well closet!) was very small with a bed (very uncomfortable and springs coming through mattress). Only 2 pillows and they were very thin. No where to put your suitcase or any sides to put you stuff. Shower was ok but no hot water on the Saturday night for myself (so had cold shower). There was hot water during day as my husband had a shower but definitely NONE on Saturday night. Very uncomfortable night (both nights). I will say we nearly took the hit on money the first night and was going to move out and go somewhere else. We would of done this if it was for more than a couple of days but in the end we decided to stay. £270 for 2 nights really should be a comfortable say. I will definitely not recommend this hotel and hope that these comments will help them to see that they need to sort out their accommodation. One good touch was unlimited water bottles, thank you they were very much appreciated. Loud music on the saturday night but that didnt bother us too much as we expected it to be a little noisy. I did not sleep for 2 nights hence am exhausted today.

Only 1 star fir everything as we didnt actually stay. Had tried to cancel as a matter if courtesy 2/3 days before as due to famipybillness and change of plans we couldnt come. Began to think no real people actually work there until one young man did answer but couldnt help except to take message for A rthur who never responded. Hence my one star review. Customer service especially to new and prospective customers is important.
