National Tyres and Autocare - a Halfords company

Useless!! Booked tracking 2 weeks ago. When I arrived for an 11 am. appointment, I was told I'd have to come back at 3 or 4 pm. because they were busy with mot's. I'm annoyed because I'd booked time off work! What's the point of booking a time slot when they can't honour it?

Not happy. They cancelled my booking but they did manage to fit me in. But because of the cancellation they said the tyres I'd already paid on the web for the original booking would be refunded in 7 days, so I had to pay again for this booking.Update: so I got a reply from Halfords who now own National tyres saying please get in touch and we will sort this problem out. So up to now one phone call to head office that assured me they will sort this problem. NOTHING SORTED. 2 emails with reply saying hold on were getting this problem sorted. NOTHING. Well that's me done with Halfords and I hope everybody reads this email and thinks twice about using them.

Booked over £500 worth of tyres in here and still yet to have them fitted 3 weeks later. First attempt 9th September, took the car and waited 50 minutes to give the keys over due to the mile long queue of customers- despite having a pre booked appointment. Left the car for the whole day and was then told they hadn’t had the delivery of the tyres and to book another appointment. Booked another appointment only to arrive to see no members of staff and for a mechanic to say all staff had called in sick so again there was no one to fit the tyres. Waste of time, and finding another garage to get a refund and replace all 4 tyres.

Amazing team they have here. They honestly made me feel like a family member, not just a customer. I recently booked an mot on an old car that's been sat. Failed of course, but you get 10 days to repair and retest. Takes the car home. Work, life etc meant I was a over the 10 days. I live local so nipped in to ask about booking the car back in for a new test. The guy was amazing and so was the mot inspector. They did a free retest for me. If that's not amazing customer service I don't know what is. Thank you guys so much, will definitely be using again and recommending.Happy happy customer

Had mot here, failed, and had to go to another halfords to complete as they couldn't do it. They couldn't fit us in but gave us a price £280 for a cover. We went somewhere else, they fitted both for £160 and then told us that's not a mot failure. Went back, wasn't interested when we told them and he went outside looked under the car and then says to my wife, I won't charge you extra as you went somewhere else. Car didn't leave the car park and I'm sat there watching!! Won't be going back, and this place needs investigating for trying to rip people off.

Avoid this place !!!I went there on Sunday morning to do the wheel tracking on my car as I've just fitted 4 new tyres and the old ones been worned little bit from insideI've been told £70 pound over the phone while booking my appointment.When arrived I've asked if I can pay by card and had been advised that it will be £30 if I pay by cash as it will save a lot of time to book it in on the computer.Easy money straight to employee pocket? :)My tracking has been done in less than an hour so I went on the road and realised that my steering wheel is not straight while driving on straight.So I get back and I ask politely to re adjusted.25 minutes later went on the road again and guess what ? Steering wheel still not straight, bit better but still not straight !!!I get back and ask to fix it.I've been called grumpy" or something like that

Absolutely shocking service! Partner booked to get new windscreen wipers 2 weeks in advance…turned up on the day and they told us they don’t have the part so we could either wait for it to come in or go elsewhere. Obviously went elsewhere.Partner booked in again this time to get an MOT and service as the MOT ran out the day after he got back off holiday. Again, booked well in advance. Got a call HALF AN HOUR before the appointment time and was told they would be unable to fit him in and the next available date they have is a week away. When my parter told the guy his MOT runs out today so he can’t wait an extra week, his response was “well you can’t drive without an MOT so I would recommend just leaving your car at home until you come to get your MOT done next week”. Also told us there’s no other appointments in the area….5 minutes of looking on the Halfords website and we found one so clearly he just didn’t want to lose money.I would avoid this place at all costs if you actually want to get work done to your car.

I pre-booked a tire change but got there early. The manager was very friendly and managed to fit me in straight away. All done in under an hour and at a very good price.
