Awful. Hired a car here almost a year ago now and used my frequent flyer number so I could earn Avios from the rental. Checked my Avios after the rental – no points added. Waited a few weeks just in case, but when the points still hadn't appeared I called Budget and was told to fill out a 'missing Avios claim form' on the Budget website. I did this and got an email confirming receipt of the form but months passed and still no sign of the points. So I filled out the form again, got the same confirmation of receipt email and now almost a year has passed and still no points. I've since hired a car with Avis and the points were credited immediately after the rental. Avoid!

Total scam office managed by fraudsters. We arrived 2 hrs late because of a suicide on the train lines. We called and emailed and they confirmed it was not an issue. On arrival they tried to charge extra because we arrived late! Who charges extra for less time and during normal office hours. When we explained the situation they were rude and unhelpful. It is no surprise they have such terrible reviews and poor 3* rating. I strongly advise using an alternative company here, there are many alternatives.

I rented a 500 fiat car for one day for £39 and when I returned it I ended up paying £156 because I didn’t refill the tank, however there was half of fuel left in the tank but they charged me £79.58 for the other half!.In addition, they charged me extra money for a none reason!! The check was done by DeborahAwful service !!.

I normally do not post negative reviews online, but my experience was so bad with this Avis/Budget branch office at London Gatwick airport, that I would like other travellers to be aware.I am travelling a lot and renting cars all over the world. I am only using well known car rental brands and try to avoid local, not well-known agencies. When we needed a rental car for a short trip in the UK, I checked the available options at Gatwick. My first choice was Alamo, but strangely they did not have available cars so I went with Budget. I selected the car, paid for the rental in advance and even completed the online check-in so the rental process at the airport is less painful.What happened is that our flight was delayed by 4 hours so we arrived at Gatwick at around 23:00. It took us a record 30 minutes to reach the car rental centre at Gatwick South. There are 3 desks in this building - Alamo/Enterprise, Avis/Budget and Europcar. To our biggest surprise the Avis/Budget desk was already closed, there were no message or car keys left to us. When we tried to contact any Avis phone number we could not talk to anyone. We were there with a 4 months old baby, in the middle of the night, after a long flight that was +4 hours longer due to the delay, and we did not have a car that we already paid for. We had similar situations in other airports with other rental agencies before, and they were ALWAYS waiting for us when the flight was delayed. You are providing the flight number to the agency so they know that there is a delay and they know when exactly the plane will land and when they can expect the customer. I could never imagine begore that a rental office is closing while they know that there is a customer who already paid for the rental and his/her flight is delayed. To make our experience even more painful, the other 2 desks (Alamo and Europcar) were both open. We asked them and they mentioned that Avis is closed and the Avis staff did not left any keys or mentioned anything about us when they left. We could not do anything else but we rented a car from Europcar for double the price (instant rental is always more expensive).And this is only the first part of the story. I called the Budget office the next day demanding an explanation and a refund for the rental. The agent just said that they are closing at 22:00 and they normally wait only 15-20 minutes for late arriving customers. When I asked about the refund he told me that he is asking his manager and the line suddenly dropped. When I called again, they denied the refund as this was a 'no show'.This is the worst experience I had with any car rental company and just wanted other travellers to be aware what they can expect from this Avis/Budget location. I used Avis/Budget on other locations and I was more or less satisfied. I am even an AVIS preferred member. Just imagine if they treat their preferred members like this than what can you expect as a regular customer. If you are arriving to Gatwick South, I would recommend renting from Alamo or Europcar, so if you arrive late or flight cancelled you'll have at least some chance to get your car or a refund. I would definitely avoid using Avis/Budget at this location.

On no account use this rental car company is my view. Why? I booked a car with them through Holiday Autos to be picked up at 6 p.m from London City Airport on a Friday evening - the exact time that it closes. Nobody in this company pointed this out to me. When I got the there late, there were no instructions about what to do. The phone numbers that were there informed me that they would not be open till Monday morning at 9 a.m. In short the service is awful and they should be avoided at all costs. I now have the hassle of getting my money back from them!

Very easy and fast from pick up to drop off. The ability to add requested info online before pick is great. Davide M particularly and the whole team super efficient and helpful. Imo the best choice at Gatwick for price, service and ease of drop off and collection.

This company charged my credit card without permission and then wouldn’t reply to emails!When I collected the car the clerk informed that it is a legal requirement in France to have either snow chains or winter tyres. The clerk then told me that my car had summer tyres and snow chains in the boot, he then tried to up-sell me a bigger car with winter tyres as he deemed it the safer option"

First and foremost, I had booked a mid-size SUV similar to a Peugeot 2008, which boasts a generous 467-litre boot space, as I needed ample room for my family's luggage and belongings.However, upon arrival, I was presented with a Fiat 500x, which only offered a boot space of 350 litres.
