Orton Hall Hotel and Spa

I went here with my wife and children and it was absolutely stupendously amazing, I loved the spa and the rooms are great. Also the staff are well mannered and always ready to help. Would recommend definitely coming back here with my wife and children again.

This is rated as a 4 star hotel, so the stars above reflect how close Orton Hall came to my expectations. One of the first 4 star establishments I have experienced since I began reviewing for Google maps.It met my expectations so got 4 stars, had it exceeded them it would have been 5, as I do have to leave room for improvement.We only went for afternoon tea, so that is all the stars reflect.Having said that my wife and I throughly enjoyed the experience. It was tasty, and I needed a doggy bag. We experienced finger sarnies, pork pie, sausage roll, a caramel desert, Scones, and cake.We were impressed enough to book a stay there later in the year. So a review of the whole establishment shall appear then.All my reviews and stars given are based on my expectations of the type of place I am visiting.

Beautiful hotel and grounds and super atmosphere. Food is also really good , free parking , spa is also worth a visit with a good sized pool , sauna , steam room and jacuzzi with a large range of treatments. I really have no negatives to say about this place. Well worth a visit.

A just average experience. The hotel and especially the leisure/spa area needs to be updated. For example the radiators in the changing area are totally rusted. Cleanliness of flooring in leisure area and hotel room not good. I found dust hanging from my bathroom toilet ceiling lights, I gently dusted one of them and the whole light fitting fell out of the ceiling. Staff appear more interested in gossiping to each other, rather than pay attention to customers.

I came here for a trip with friends, we booked a triple room which came with complimentary robes and bottles of water and biscuits and coffee etc. You have to book the spa to go to it, which seemed odd because we were never told a time to leave. Nice facilities, though. Wonderful sauna and steam room. The bathroom in our room was beautiful, and toiletries were provided. The only downside was that there was a party being held right below our room in a function room outside, so I had to wear earplugs that were uncomfortable, to block the noise of music and people out. The place is a bit of a maze but very nice, lots of areas to relax and chill with a coffee which was quite inviting. Breakfast was amazing, and so delicious, although the coffee could have been improved.

Outside is very pretty and definitely looks like a historical site. Grounds are great for morning and evening walks. However, the rooms also look and feel historic. Carpet needs cleaning or to be replaced. The shower didn’t drain properly and the walls are super thin. You will be able to hear anything that happens near your room in the hallway, next door, upstairs, downstairs, etc. Pack your patience and some earplugs.

The staff were so friendly and attentative. We sat in lounge area in reception and just listened and people watched. The staff were delivering wine to people's rooms and extra pillows etc it never stopped. Lots of hotels we stay in could take leasons of them.

Lovely quaint hotel in a village area just outside of the city centre. Orton Hall the Manor dates back before 1166. It is situated in Lovely woodland . Private parking, pub, spa, restaurants. Worth a look and a relaxing stay. It's a very old building with usual wear and tear but worth every penny for accommodation.

Been coming here for over 25 yrs with works do's, weddings and personal stays.It's a great place you could wish for a better stay but sadly the hotel prices aren't competitive now and I move to a different hotel for 2 nights nearer the city for the price of 1 night at Orton Hall.The coffee and sausages are better here as well.So left disappointed......
