Rooten Brook Self catering holiday cottages

Myself and the wife stopped for a week and couldn't fault it, Ten mins in car for local pubs for food ( Recommend the ship in caton ) Not far to run for the Lakes.

Stayed 4 nights from 29th April - 3 May 2022. Cannot fault the cottage or location. Looked new inside and immaculately clean. The views are to die for and the outside seating area is a great touch. The only thing that spoiled it was the vibrant barking of several collie dogs that work the farm. More importantly and the first morning we were wakened at 6.45am by the farm Jack Russells yapping echoing round the yard for and hour and every time they let it out. Always women between 6.45 and 7.45 by the dogs and then more or less constantly all day. If the weather had been good enough to sit outside we wouldn't have done because of the baking. Saw Linda and told her and she spoke to her son. There must have been confusion as he said he hadn't let the dog out until 7.30 that morning. Still to early when you're on holiday and trying to rest. Blamed it on another cottage visitors dog, but the yapping continued even after those guests went home. Spoiled what would have been a perfect, relaxing holiday

Stayed in Clougha View Cottage on Rooten Brook Farm for 4 nights (19.07.2021) cottage was very very clean & well equipped, it's a working farm so you get the smells & sounds but that didn't bother us. The views are to die for & we loved watching the sun set every night over Morecambe Bay. The cottage is well placed for exploring the surrounding area, you're not too far from the Yorkshire Dales or The Lake District & Lancaster is on your doorstep. We visited Lancaster Castle & the Maritime Museum, saw the ruins of the Roman Baths, had a lovely long walk along the promenade in Morecambe, wouldn't hesitate to return to the area as there is so much to see & do & can't recommend Rooten Brook Farm Cottages enough. Felt so relaxed & chilled out & slept like a log every night.

Great place for a break cottage was clean everything you need is there dog friendly too owner's were brilliant made welcome if like peace and quiet great location nice view not far from Lancaster

A very peaceful stay with stunning views. Clean, warm, good space, outdoor seating and parking. It is a working farm so expect cattle and sheep, tractor movements and sheep dog barking but this all adds.to the experience of rural Lancashire. Easy access to Forest of Bowland, Kirby Lonsdale, Ingleton as well as the Lancashire coast, Blackpool, Lancaster and Morecambe. Supermarket on edge of Lancaster and Fast food is also there, but even the journey over the cattle grids and through the ravine to the farm adds to the magical feel of the Clogtha Pike.

A lovely place to stay. Stunning views, comfortable accommodation in an interesting part of the country. The cottage is well appointed, clean and has amazing surroundings.
