(Updating my review 5 years later) I bought my property through Helliwell 5 year ago, and now I’ve sold it through them at the asking price! This is a gem of a family-run estate agent. I can’t thank them enough particularly to Alistair and Josie! Highly recommend working with them!****Just picked up the keys of our new property which we managed to buy through Helliwell & Co. I can’t recommend them more highly! Joshua and his team have been superb throughout the whole process – knowledgeable, responsive and honest! They even went above and beyond in providing guidance given we were first time-buyers. Many thanks Joshua!

Warning to anyone looking to rent with Helliwell.We took the first viewing possible for a flat to rent, and immediately sent in an offer over the asking price. Two days later and we followed up to see if the landlord wanted to accept our offer, when the agent informed us they were holding our offer till the following day so they could do multiple more viewings and send all offers off in one go.I highly suspect they used our offer to encourage other potential tenants to offer more than us, as this had been done to us at a previous viewing with Helliwell.

Joshua & his team were fantastic. As an agency, they were very proactive & worked extra hard to find the right buyer for our property. In comparison to other Estate Agents we dealt with, Helliwells by far gave the better service. They kept us updated every step of the way which made the whole experience less stressful. I can’t recommend them highly enough.

Professional, honest, very good at their jobs, and they even made what can be a very stressful experience genuinely enjoyable. Scum of the earth. Avoid at all costs.Unprofessional, dishonest staff. Take any opportunity to extract money from you without providing a service of value.Incompetent staff, ignore emails and calls.Office Manager is very unprofessional and rude and seems to lack basic intelligence.Helliwell seem to think they’re something special because of their pretentiously decorated offices, but in terms of what they offer they are no better than a Dexters or Foxtons.Would not wish dealing with them on my worst enemy.

Totally unprofessional and rude. Would give 0 stars if I could.Went for a viewing on Sep 16, placed an offer same day and was told I'd hear back by the following Monday - which I didn't. I thought this was fair enough as they're probably busy or listening to other offers that may have came in a few days later. I ring later that week and I'm told there's no updates yet as the landlord is weighing up the offers.I then receive a call on Sep 25 from the agency saying that they had accepted our offer, and to await a link to pay the holding deposit and proceed with further checks etc. As a result I turned down proceeding further with alternate properties which are now no longer available…I didn't hear back for a few days (as the agent I was dealing with apparently wasn't available and no one else had any info as to what was happening, when I rang to enquire). I ring again on Sep 29 to find out that apparently our offer was no longer accepted - I wasn’t offered any explanation or apology as to what happened and was hung up on.Not only was I failed to be kept in the loop, but I was either lied to about my offer being accepted or I was played off against another bidder - in which case I was still lied to.Avoid at all costs.

Recently purchased a house with the help of Perry and Alistair, who were extremely responsive, supportive and factual throughout the process. Recommend Helliwell & Co highly based on the experience that I’ve had - very happy.
