Lovely pub with great beer garden out back in the summer. Food is delicious and always willing to accommodate. Always recommend to anyone passing through the village

First visit for a carvery. Great food and very well cooked and presented. Nice meat with obvious home cooking of accompaniments.Lovely pint and welcoming staff. Highly recommended and I’ll definitely go again.

Landlord was very welcoming on our arrival but gave us time before taking order. We had a meatball dish and a garlic prawn dish for starters, with steak for mains and red wine to drink. Wine was reasonably priced at £6 for 250ml.Both starters were excellent and the accompanying bread especially good. The steak comes out sizzling on a hot plate and needs you to cook it to your personal preference. This can be awkward as it is cooking all the time you are eating. Therefore your rare steak is soon a medium, or well done, if you don't eat quickly or swap your food around between dishes! However, you don't have a lot of room for this.Veg was a battered onion and breaded mushrooms. The onion was nicely presented but the mushrooms were disappointing, soggy inside the breadcrumbs.Overall very nice and reasonably priced.

Went for Sunday carvery on a cold day. Pub was lovely and warm, very welcoming. Food was plentiful, and delicious. 3 meats, plus stuffing, yorkies and good selection of veg. Will definitely return.

We visited the Royal Oak recently on a rainy Friday evening, for dinner. The log burner was lit and it was lovely and cosy inside. Everything on the new menu sounded so good that we had a hard time choosing what to eat! We decided on burgers, and both of them were excellent! Staff are very friendly and attentive. We will be back ☺️
