Witchford Waste Recycling Centre | Before visiting the Household Recycling Centre please visit our website to Check whether your vehicle requires an e-permit (applies to commercial-type vehicles or any trailer in excess of 1.5m length (excluding the towing mechanism) or over 570 litre capacity) Please sort your waste ready for arrival at site. Opening times Monday to Sunday - 9am to 6pm Late night on Wednesdays - closes at 7pm Entrance gates shut 10 minutes before closing time Christmas Eve - closes at 1pm Christmas Day - closed Boxing Day - closed New Year's Day - closed General information There are nine Household Recycling Centres (HRCs) in Cambridgeshire. They are managed by Thalia under contract to Cambridgeshire County Council. HRCs are provided for Cambridgeshire residents to bring their household waste. I have always found the staff here to be very courteous and helpful. The access to the various waste skips is very good and well laid out. There is a small shop with various items for sale here too.

Mixed experiences this week. Went on Wednesday night after work and there was a very nice gentleman with grey hair and glasses and no beard. He was beyond helpful and made a bad day much better.But this evening i got there about 5.20pm and there was a guy with a long greyish beard who was quite passive aggressive. He seemed annoyed that i had turned up near the end of the day. He didn’t seem to really want to help and was annoyed that i had to put some bits on the floor and told me he had just swept there.Thank goodness the nice man was there and he came and helped.

Brilliant place to offload your excess household, garden and other items we all seem to collect.Easy access to the skips, friendly helpful staff and on the edge of the village.A nice facility to visit.

I would of given this 5 stars as I have been coming here since it has opened and usually always very helpful and quick in and out. But I was greeted at the front today by a very rude individual. Customer service (and manors) should exist everywhere even if it is a recycling centre. Young boy with glasses. Nobody should be spoken to in the way he did.

Very impressed with this recycling centre so easy to use, no steps, signs to show you what goes where and staff very helpful.The only down side is the items for sale are very highly priced in fact higher than antique shops. I liked a sunbed but it was £30! And there was wheel trims there for £15 and that's same price as new in halfords

Staff were only interest in ordering me and my partner (who was looking after my 6 month old) about. When they saw me struggle with 2 sofas and other heavy items they stood watching and talking about car.I would like to say this was a one off but this has happen serveral times in recent month. If you want good service go else like midenhall where thier staff actually help.

Witchford Recycling Centre
Having lived in various parts of Cambridgeshire and used multiple recycling centres, I can safely say the one at Witchford is the best I’ve visited.After moving house and having to get rid of a lot of boxes and rubbish, being able to throw away this from above the skips and not having to climb steps made the job a lot easier!
