Virgin Hotels Edinburgh

My second visit to the Virgin Hotel Edinburgh left me just as amazed as the first time, even after a year from its opening. The property continues to be incredible, with everything looking as fantastic as it did before. There's a wealth of different spaces, chic interiors, a variety of restaurants, and plenty of spots to enjoy a drink.The overall interior of the hotel exudes a chic and modern vibe that feels foreign in the best way possible. It's a departure from the typical luxurious hotels you find in most British cities. Being Virgin Hotels' first property in the UK, it brings a refreshing new perspective to the hospitality scene.If you have the means, I highly recommend staying here. In my opinion, it's a unique and superior experience compared to other prestigious options like the Scotsman or Waldorf Astoria. The Virgin Hotel Edinburgh is a breath of fresh air and a welcome addition to the city's hospitality offerings.

Great place to stay if you are in Edinburgh. The hotel is located perfectly to discover the city. The service is great, as we were not happy with our first room, we asked for a change and the staff helped us without any issues. The hotel has a bar and a restaurant. Personally, the breakfast is not what we expected for a 5 star hotel but the food was yummy.

As others have mentioned there is nearby Club that will pay loud bass till at least 3am and there is nothing the hotel can do about it. Even will earplugs it was impossible to get decent sleep which for the price of the hotel is not on par. The location is ideal and the breakfast is good if you buy the package but you will have to remind the breakfast staff every morning that the orange juice is empty. I wouldn’t stay again for the price.

Fantastic hotel, brilliant location let down by lack lustre food and bland room service. The breakfast was bland and the paid for options were overcooked and tasteless . The room service options were just no better than a chain hotel. The hotel itself is fantastic and amazing rooms with a roof terrace which is stunning

Excellent hotel in the heart of old town, only a 10 min walk from the train station. We got upgraded to a large king room that was beautiful. The design and renovation of this old historic building is amazing and we loved it. It’s also very quiet as they had double windows in our room so there was no street noise. Breakfast was fantastic. Our only regret was not staying longer.

Best hotel we have ever stayed in! We couldn't recommend it enough. The room was perfect, everything was spotless and the staff were exceptional. We just wished we booked another night!

great location, pricy but strange overallhotel experience. weird design everywhere trying to be cool but just looks like a 14 yo designed it. bizarre room layout. also so hot in my room in dead of winter that i had to have the AC on at 16 degrees. staff trying hard but service mid-tier. had never heard of virgin hotels before and i think i can see why, feels like they are still learning the ropes of general hospitality.

Rooms are spacious, super stylish and comfortable. The lobby areas are gorgeous and the old features look great. Location is perfect (on Diagonal Alley ;)). We had a few issues eith cleanliness but the team were rapid and sorted it all out.Food for breakfast (ours wascomplimentary) was not good for a 5* hotel.We had issues with cleanliness but got upgraded because of the issues. The hotel is well situated in the Old Town, very near Grey Friar's Bobby, the castle etc.The hotel is beautifully decorated, each communal room has a different sort of vibe.We were welcomed by a lovely lady in reception, she was genuinely warm and friendly.The room we stayed in was clean, warm and comfortable. The shower was great. I appreciated that the toilet was separate from the shower.We enjoyed our fluffy robes and found the mini bar reasonably priced.We dined in Eve at night, there was something for everyone and generous portions. The food was delicious and service nice and relaxed, not stuffy and pretentious. The music and style of Eve created a nice chilled ambiance.The roof terrace (available to guests who are staying in the hotel) offered excellent views including a fairly close proximity to the Castle.Really enjoyed our stay and hope to return some day.

Great experience staying in Virgin Edinburgh! Rooms are super clean and modern looking with beautiful views all around.Common areas are such a vibe and we enjoyed drinks in the common club area.Will absolutely come back as the location is perfect for anyone visiting Edinburgh for a few days.Only negative was that the rooms were not completely soundproof as we could hear some drunken conversations multiple times from people drinking around the street.
