Turned up with no booking on a Tuesday night with an awkward party size (5). The staff were excellent and found us a table straight away. The cocktails and food were very tasty and well presented.Its no nonsense quality Italian fair. Staff were really attentive and very efficient. The only downside is I thought the plate decoration on my creamy pasta was a grated truffle dust.. the pasta doesn’t need truffle. It’s great as it is. The plates don’t need the random speckled pattern but that is my preference. I would definitely return and recommend this restaurant.

Nice atmosphere. The people who work there were very polite, friendly and helpful. And the food was delicious. Definitely recommend if you are up for an Italian cuisine.

Really well run family owned Italian restaurant. Easy booking process, friendly staff, great service and unbelievable food. Highly recommend the mushroom bruschetta and pizzas! Really bubbly atmosphere inside and I overheard the table next to me say “we didn’t try that last time” which tells you this is one of those great places you will end up going back to! Shoutout to Nico too for helping to solve a little issue we had with our food with minimal fuss!

First time dining at this Italian restaurant and it was amazing.The place , modern nice touches and really gives a welcoming vibe.Food 10/10 - a menu with a number of choices from starters, mains , pizza, pasta and desserts. We ordered pizza, pasta and desserts of which were amazing! All freshly cooked and came out perfecto.Best pizza in Bedford for sure.Staff were very polite and attentive. We look forward to joining them soon again!

We dined at il Basilico as a family for the first time tonight, as an early mothers day treat for my mother and my wife. The service from Holly and Nico was second to none and they were very attentive to our every need, which is indicative of good Italian hospitality. The background music and lit candles on the tables set the tone for a lovely soporific atmosphere within this charming Italian restaurant. The food here is very authentic and the portion size is very generous to say the least. To say you won't go hungry here is an understatement, a hearty appetite is certainly needed. There is plenty of seafood on the menu if your a seafood lover, however this is not to say that the menu doesnt cater for other Italian favourites like lasagna and pizza alike.We ordered a number of starters the mussels (Cozza Alla Marinara) were a real treat and the tomato sauce had just the right amount of background heat from the chilli, this was accompanied with home made house bread which was delicious. My mum ordered the king prawns in white wine and garlic (Gamberoni Sicilia), and the prawns were cooked perfectly. My wife ordered the Brushetta Al Pomodor and my son ordered the Tomato, Basil, and Buffalo Mozzarella. Every one of our starters were delicious, cooked perfectly and seasoned beautifully. For my main course I ordered the mixed seafood spaghetti (spaghetti de pescatdore) my wife ordered the lasagna my son ordered the pepperoni pizza and my mum ordered the Tagliatelle Alla Trevisana. Our food was faultless and fulfilled my expectations. Compliments to Alex the chef. Everything about the evening was relaxed without feeling rushed or under pressure to order quickly. The restaurant certainly had a warm and healthy buzz which I can only put down to the relaxed and friendly service given to us by Holly and Nico. The prices here are very reasonable too. We are very fortunate to have many great restaurants in Bedford and this certainly ranks alongside with the best of them. Please keep doing what your doing. Thanks for a great evening, we'll certainly be back!!

This was our second visit to Il Basilico and again it did not disappoint. The food was amazing, starters, mains and desserts all absolutely delicious, beautifully presented and generous portions. The service is excellent and the place has a lovely ambience. Thoroughly enjoy our night, thank you!

We had a really lovely meal here. Everything was spot on from the call taking the booking to the food and drinks. Friendly and engaging servers and well presented tasty food. Cocktails were very good (and reasonably priced too)

We ordered 2 pizzas and a few drinks and the were in the table in 15 minutes. They tasted just so good. Neapolitan style.Super fast and good service 10/10Good quality pizzas 9/10We’ll definitely be back to try some of the desserts as the looked delicious!

Oh WOW. What an amazing little place I can see why it's 4.9 stars.Mains, sides and dessert all incredible, best risotto I've ever had easily and such a huge range of choices. The service was speedy and extremely reasonably priced, I highly recommend the Lemoncello Tiramasu, yum!But what really makes this place, is the friendly, chatty and attentive staff. They're clearly happy in their work place and checked on us regularly. I just can't fault the place. We will 100% be returning.Great place for a romantic date, the place is so stylish and cosy.Thanks all!
