Pont ar Daf Car Park
Toilet block has been demolished to make way for a new one, in its place, portable loos installed, dirty stinking ones not well maintained. Construction to expand the car parking area in progress. Car park was full at 11am

At the base of Pen Y Fan. It’s always busy. We park at around 3 to 4am and it’s still busy people come and go and we always manage to get parking. There are several mobileCafes there all are good. Loos on site (useful) the gateway to PenYFan.

It was really nice up here in and around the parking lot, which is quite spacious but can be crowded and not easy to find a spot. The view from higher ground is amazing overlooking the parking area and the areas around it.

This parking area is a very popular place for people hiking Pen Y Fan. It does not cost to park here! We arrived around 9:30 and it was almost full. There are portable toilets there and they had a food stand with many options. Arrive early to be guaranteed a spot.

Only a quick stop on the way through. We were lucky enough to get parked in the car park rather than on the road. Portaloos are clean and tidy. Only wish we'd had more time to take one of the walks and properly enjoy the views.

Nice place for hiking with nice views. It’s a 1.5 hrs hike to the top. The place has toilet and baby changing facilities next to the parking. Parking costs like £7.50 for the day.Would recommend to go with friends or family though it’s a bit difficult with toddlers/ infants as some places are slippery.

Certainly much better than before with nice tarmac areas for parking, however, I still don’t think there’s enough parking to account for the busiest times. The toilets are MUCH better but there’s no plumbing so don’t expect running water. I was a little disappointed that - with all the money being spent here (plus £7.50 to park) - there’s no water fountain to fill up bottles. You can pay via an app on your phone which makes things easier, the machines are cash but they have an attendant where you can pay by card if the app won’t work for you.

Construction work undergoing at the minute.Fresh tarmac has been laid and spaces are marked by white circles, rather than bay lines.Parking is free, but was informed by local guide that a metre will be installed soon, whereby national trust members will be able to park for free and non-members will have to pay.Several port-a-loos on site that were slightly grubby, but what do you expect?
