Lordswood Community Tennis Club

This was the first club I joined when I took up tennis in 2019. I joined online and turned up without owning a racket or balls.It doesnt have the same welcoming structure as The Circle down the road. It was defintely a self initiated endeavour for me.I found a tennis ball and began bouncing it. I bought a racket the next day and balls and tried to serve and it was a nightmare trying to get the ball over the net. But with the privacy afforded I felt okay practicing and taught myself without felling self conscious. I also joined a neighbouring club where I got to practice play.Due to bad weather and Covid I never got to take tuition but today I am able to play quite well. I have also found the social users and play regularly. If you decide to join there is open social play for all members on Fridays between 7pm and 9pm.You can book a court any day for a free hour of play but normally that means you can play beyond as there are 5 well maintained, hard courts (concrete) which are rarely all used at any given time.If you just want to turn up and play out of the general public view then this is the place for you. Access is via an electronically secured gate. Once inside you are surrounded by trees which provide good privacy.Annual subscription is very cheap compared to other clubs which is fair as it is a self run club with no staff on site.

Friendly local tennis club with 5 tidy courts

Purchased a block of lessons in May at this club, but the majority were cancelled, and have received no contact or refund from the club, really disappointed

Great tennis club, amazing coaches.

Nice courts. The floodlights need checking as a couple of the bulbs/lamps aren't working. Good surface, good net and good court booking system.
