Absolutely shocking provider , the customer service is appalling can't understand a word one another is saying have no clear English at all .Only been with them 2 week at a new property and I must of spent 3 hours in total on the phone . Took over a week just to get my account number … shocking

Avoid British gas at all cost" They didn't bring bill for almost 11 months when they finally brought it it was almost £2000 for just gas. Prior to this I spoke to multiple staff to figure out if I was In debt they said no. Boom almost 2000£ debt. The staff are not well trained they seem very clueless on what is going on with my account. I decided to pay this debt on monthly direct debit which was set up by a member of thier staff

Missing top up every time I top up gas and electricity; and their only answer is I owe the company for no reason! The top up goes off so fast; nobody is really responsible for this scam company and you have to wait for ever to reach to the customer service! Don’t go near this company for your good!

British Gas customer services chat are nothing but a bunch of useless incompetent moronic imbecile's. I am surprised they can turn on the power because they cannot turn on a brain. I have never dealt with a bunch of wet wipes like them in my entire life. There is more competence in a 3-legged dog urinating. I have contacted them once a month now for.... I don't know, I have lost count of months but at least one birthday, an easter, halloween and oh, probably a christmas! How hard is it to change me from quarterly to monthly billing?? Promise after promise... British Gas, the only Gas they pass is the verbal type coming from their customer service.

Shockingly bad customer service and terrible, bug-ridden website. I’ve been trying to tell them I have moved for over a week now. I will just have to cancel my direct debit and see how long it takes them to get the message.

I wouldnt advise anyone to join british gas. Got my first own home, was told the gas is provided by British gas tried to contact 3 different customer service lines, online chat bot through whatsapp and email them all to set up my account and start paying the bill. get responded with if you want boiler repair" well i didnt want boiler repair just to set up my account or speak to a human but couldnt do so had to leave setting up my account and panic for weeks due to their negligence. 5 weeks later get 3 letters in of british gas saying im in debt now with them. Absolutely fantastic if youd have done your basic job in the first place we wouldn't have this issue..... now its me cleaning up your mistake when you made no effort in the first place. Cheers dont go with british gas."

Moved into my first bought property December 22, I was made aware the property was using gas and electric with BG. I never received a welcoming letter with the code on for me to be able to set up an online account, after 7 days of ringing I was able to speak to someone who didn't understand what I was trying to do? They have me a 6 digit number which only turned out to be a account number they'd just created for me and made things worse and confused themselves. After 4 hours again, waiting on the phone they appeared to just changed the names on the previous BG account to our names!? I then could not get hold of BG via telephone, email, online chat or letter. This ended up me being liable" for the previous owners bills they hadn't paid for!? Long story short

I would've put 0 star if I could....no gas for weeks...all I need is my pre payment meter changing and the advisor told me to call my plumber lol .....how can a company be so consistent in bad customer service....sign up to Scottish power you won't regret it
