The Fortescue Inn Salcombe
My wife and I had a wonderful dinner here yesterday. Not just pub food on the menu but a great variety of dishes. I had lamb steak with an aubergine bake and feta cheese salad, my wife had a spicy chicken dish with sweet potatoes. The staff were attentive and had a good rapport with us. Certainly would recommend booking just in case as it gets busy

Exceptional staff. Good range of beers etc including local brews. Food is excellent and there is an extensive Pizza menu for eat in and takeaway. Pizzas are cooked in a genuine Pizza Oven.Great ambience in the Pub with a welcoming log fire. Location is amazing.

The Fort" as it is know locally. Looked after us well.We had a very nice room with a nice bathroom.It was a bit noisy late with people in the street below

Love this pub. Always a good atmosphere. Food is great and nice range of beers. Often has a better crowd in too, less hooray henries than the centre

Pretty decent pub, went to watch rugby and great atmosphere, separate bar if you didn't want to watch sport, can't comment on food

The Fortescue Inn Salcombe
A lightning storm hit our camp site at 12:00 at night. After booking the last taxi in town I rang this hotel to see if they had availability, the lane lady had a room available and ensured me she would be here to meet us when we arrived. Jennifer who I presume is the land lady waited well over an hour and a half for us and met us at 01:30 in the morning. I simply could not have asked for a better service. The hotel went well out of its way to ensure we had a room during a horrific storm.The hotel room was absolutely gorgeous and modern with everything you could have wanted. It was a very large double bed room (arguably the comfiest bed I have ever slept on). I did not see the other rooms in the hotel but from what I saw and the fantastic breakfast we had this local Inn is well worthy of a 5 star hotel review.

Great location in the town centre just up from the harbour.They found us room in their restaurant area when we'd been turned away from two other pubs which had no space!But very glad we ended up here as we had some lovely food included the whole baked plaice from the specials board.Thatchers Haze cider on draft and great service completed an enjoyable visit.

Nice atmosphere ..lovely friendly staff. Best home made steak & Ale pie in a long time with fresh vegetables and chips or potatoes fresh fish with chips & peas...definitely worth a visit if your in Salcombe

The Fortescue Inn Salcombe
It’s a pub that serves breakfast. It sounds odd but it really works!We went for breakfast with our dog Angus this morning. The staff were very helpful and friendly, the service excellent and the food superb. Angus enjoyed his sausage and piece of toast, I really enjoyed the large breakfast with proper meaty sausages, thick tasty bacon and scrambled eggs cooked exactly how I like them.I can’t believe that the pub doesn’t advertise the fact that they’re open for breakfast. You should go and try it. It’s really good!

We came for supper. We loved the fish pie. Jemima was a superb host. She recommend d the Monkfish curry, which we’ll be back for. We came back for a drink the folling day and she remembered us! The Fort is now our favourite pub in town
