A friend and I visited last Friday evening for my birthday meal.I'd never been before, but had heard so many good things from friends and colleagues - we were not disappointed!We had a selection of dishes to share. All were so fresh and tasty.Our waitress was so lovely and helpful.Overall it was a great evening, and I'd definitely recommend.

Lorentes in the town centre has gone downhill since the early days. Our paella smelt like salty harbour water had been poured over it and parts of the mussels were gelatinous and see through so we sent it back. We were told it was cooked fine and we'd only get the same again, even though I'd shown the waiter an obvious visibly undercooked mussel. Some of the tapas were very good but another cabbage, potato and black pudding one was really basic for the price. I won't be returning as the last time the Bacalao was undercooked too so I think there must be a replacement chef that is inexperienced with fish since the new restaurant opened in Darley Abbey.

Had a family Birthday meal here, it was a very cosy relaxed atmosphere, lots of choice and recommendations from the very attentive helpful staff, was not rushed and thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience, the food was amazing. Highly recommend but always very busy and gets booked up so reserve well in advance.

Ate here yesterday on a quick visit to Derby and I was not disappointed. All the tapas dishes I tried were amazing, especially the gambas. Our waiter Ben was really lovely too and provided excellent service.

This area is truly stunning!! The employees were extremely accommodating and recommended the most popular dishes and dishes with the proper size for our party. Every single item we ordered was exceptionally flavorful, and arrived fast and hot from the kitchen. I'm sure I'll return!!!

Great!Never had tapas before so it was really nice to try all the different dishes and get a better understanding of the cuisine.Heartily recommend (not cheap though, if you’re ordering multiple plates, be careful not to overspend, the set plates were good value however).

We had a lovely dinner here. Friendly staff, delicious food and reasonably priced. The only negative was portions were slightly smaller than usual. But we will definitely be coming back if we are in Derby again.

Went today for the first time, never knew this beautiful little restaurant was here. The food was delicious,the waiting staff were pleasant and attentive. A piece of Spain in Derby will definitely return.

This place is honestly so lovely!! The staff were so friendly and recommended the best dishes and portion sized for our group. Every single item we ordered was so tasty, and arrived quickly and fresh and hot from the kitchen. Definitely will be back!!!

Sorry but this place is over priced and over rated.Gambas £9.50 for six Prawns.Chorizo £8.50 not nice bits of gristle in it.Staff are lovely and service good but the food is sub standard.
