Dawsholm Park
This is an urban park near the west end of Glasgow. It has lots of trails to explore and is home to flocks of wild parakeets. No one is quite sure where they came from. There are many species of trees and plants and other wildlife to spot. It is a good place for foraging and bushcraft. A lot of the trails are suitable for prams and bicycles. It can be very muddy both off and on the pathways in the winter. Easily accessible by road from various locations and by bike along the Kelvin Walkway. The park skirts along the edge of the River Kelvin at some points. In years gone by there was a paper mill on the banks at Dawsholm bridge. This is long gone but some traces still exist, if you look hard enough you can find an old cable car stop. It is a very popular spot with local families, outdoor groups and dog walkers. Please note overnight camping is not allowed in public parks. My photos are day shelters only.

Lovely park. It's a bit wilder than most, bring boots. Because of this, there are a lot of birds. Very popular with dog walkers.

Dawsholm Park
Great place for doggy walkers ,exotic bird fliers, cyclists outdoor nurseries and Heilan Coos! Fabulous green space ,with wild parakeets flying amongst the trees. Great walking paths and areas with picnic tables amongst the trees. . On our most recent walk we met Diego the Macaw out for some flying excercise whilst his owners cycled. This open parkland is situated in the West End periphery. The nearest train station for non cyclists /car drivers is Kelvindale. This is just a few hundred yards away.Visitors ! Please be aware. There are no toilet facilities within Dawsholm Park. This is the reason why this lovely, useful park has not been given 5 ******'s Still well worth a wee visit

Beautiful trails and forest right along the river. Very relaxing experience walking through the greenery and sounds of wee critters.

We had never gone to this park before, it's nice, clean, quiet, with a river and beautiful trees. Then we stumbled on a Spring party, with music, dances, songs and games! We'll go again.

Love coming here to walk the dog, it’s one of the few places we can let him off the lead as there are no roads anywhere near the park.Although he does occasionally get spooked by the crashing at the dump next door. This is a lovely walk with large grassy areas to frisbee a dog, or little Forrest paths to get lost in.

Dawsholm Park
It looses a star due to the large amount of litter around the entrance (it's next to the recycle centre). However it has a great diversity of bird life, plant and insect life and nice walks along the river. If you want to see beautiful ring necked parrots this is the place they nest. (Note: May not be safe place at night).

Fantastic country park style space in the city. Nice walks along the river or up through the woods. A few new benches added in the last couple of years giving some nice spots to chill out. No facilities but wouldn't expect any here.
