A favourite sanctuary and hangout in Leigh on Sea. It's the only place that I've been able to drink coffee without any sugar - it's that smooth and lacking bitterness. And they've recently they've added great additions to the drinks lineup like Red Latte/Espresso's - redbush tea put through the coffee machine with all the frothy milk of a coffee. It tastes so delicious it should be rationed.Simon and Ashley run this intimate yet buzzing place with passion and real skill, have devilishly good taste in the music they play, are as friendly and chipper as can be, plus they do a mean sandwich and salad plate at either £4 or £7.Go there, or be left wondering what you've missed out on.Update Oct. ‘23. I cant believe I posted the original review 9yrs ago. Still a regular and it’s still great and without compare for the quality of their coffee.

Love this coffee shop, arguably the best hot chocolate in town

For years Barlow & Fields, for me, has had the best coffee in Leigh. Don’t expect the fastest coffee if you’re in a hurry, but it’s worth the wait. Plus it’s a great spot to stop and eat too, healthy breakfast and lunch - that doesn’t skimp on portion size. Mango bowl at breakfast is my choice, and the variety of salads at lunch with a hollowed out bloomer then filled with layers of great filling. Quite often stop for an hour or so and do a spot of remote working.

Cool chilled place. The coffee is amazing as are the teas. The food is healthy fare and very filling.Also where Fiona Cummins crafted Rattle, so can't be bad!

Coffee is nice. However, if you're looking for a non-awkward and engaging conversation that doesn't include staff/owner huffing loudly (when you politely ask for a remake because AND your mates coffee taste like dish water) then go somewhere else. Shame as it is local and could be really great and a great social hub, but the number of occasions I've left there feeling not very welcome is one too many. Maybe it's just me. This will only be my emergency place - in case no other options are available.

Excellent and consistent - fantastic cakes and, of course, the legendary bar loaf and salads combo! A must for any voyager passing through…just needs some beakers of blue milk.

Best coffee in town, hands down! The Barloaf and sides is a great lunch and there’s fantastic cakes to finish. Wonderful staff, great vibes.

I've been coming here since it opened. They do amazing salads and sandwiches - I know I've had my five-a-day after a visit! Portion sizes are generous and the staff friendly. Lovely coffee and tempting cakes too. There are so many eateries in Leigh on Sea but I don't this can be beaten for a quality lunch! Go here!
